The Washington Inn was the perfect place for us to base ourselves for our 5 day stay in Oakland, Ca. The hotel is centrally located with an easy walk to the metro and Jack London Square. The staff were pleasant and the room was certainly ample.

I spent 2 nights here on a business trip. It's an old small hotel with some odd characters hanging around the lobby. The room is small with a sink near the bed rather than in the bathroom. The bedding had some stains on it, which is always a turnoff for me. The walls were dirty in places and it seemed...

Ya it's old and has a little bit of charm, but... the staff really is not that friendly. I have felt more welcome at some Laquinta's. The WIFI was out all week and when I repeatedly asked about it I was given the runaround. The kept telling me to "try again" knowing full well no one had showed up to...

Across the street from two Marriotts, this hotel costs roughly a third of the rate they charge. And while yes, it is a little tired, my room was spacious and totally spotless. Clearly, they have done some upgrading since my last visit a few years ago. Staff was pleasant. All in all, a decent, comfortable option right downtown. One hint:...

We stayed here for one night in June. The wifi was poor and the room was quite odd. The hotel was quite dated. It would not be appropriate to describe it as classic or boutique in style. The staff were friendly and pleasant. But I would not stay here again

Older hotel in town with lots of character. High ceilings, woodwork, spiral staircase. Missing the basics though. Moldy shower, hard bedding, no outlets, tiny TV with only basic cable, tiny closet, no counter by the in-room sink. Free breakfast but all cold except oatmeal. Stay here for one night if you are in a bind.

The wifi is terrible. By now it is a given that a hotel should have lightning fast wifi. This is a classic old hotel with big rooms and a great feel. Compared to all the sterile places out there, it has the kind of character I look for but it falls below standard.

Worst hotel I have stayed at in North America, whole place smells, tiny cramped room and questionable hygiene throughout. Very old, in style and in need of a refurbishment or atleast new carpets. Shower was like two on-off hot and cold switches so either boiling hot or freezing cold. This hotel was awful and not even cheap.

Older hotel really close to the Bart station. Very friendly staff. Comfortable beds and clean rooms. The breakfast isn't much. Mostly just bread, bagels, cereal and yogurt. Walking distance to Jack London Square. Parking is 15 dollars night, right across the street in parking garage.

This was our third stay her in two years. Hotels staff are great. Hotel is clean and well maintain. It;s an older building but that make it great. The hotel is close to bart and many restaurant. We will stay here every time we come to Oakland.
