The beds were clean and comfortable. Nice rooms, not brand new but well cared for and maintained. It was convenient to have the airport shuttle and pick up from rental car drop off. The elevator was sketchy.

Even though the rooms were advertised as no smoking, the group of loud people in the adjoining room were heavy smokers. The smoke came under the connecting door and woke us more than once. When flying out of Oakland. I find the Red Lion a perfect place to stay. Clean and safe hotel, that offers park and fly. I will definitely stay here again when in Oakland. The staff where very helpful.

make sure you reserve a room inside the main building, not the back building. back building has no inside corridors and you find yourself in a parking lot that anyone can access. the area is right off the BART, all kinds of people wander through here. I won't stay here again, but perhaps someone else wouldn't find it as worrisome.

Considering the alternatives in this area are a Hilton and Holiday Inn Express I would stay elsewhere.
