We stayed here for a family reunion. Family of 5 had 1 room with a queen, 3 twins, separate room with 2 sinks and closet, separate room with toilet and separate room with shower. walkout with chairs - could not get door open to get...More
As reflected in other reviews this place is a mixed bag. There are few places in the area that can accommodate a family of five and the family rooms are large enough. They are clean but very dated- I've not seen a sixties bathroom in...More
Beautiful location, practical set-up for family reunions, spacious rooms, but not cheap and the food was not good. But we had a wonderful time, the staff was kind and helpful, it was accessible for our elderly family members - overall a success, and what a...More
Our friends recommended Asilomar for a last minute trip. Mixed reviews:
Pro: GREAT Location, main buildings are architecturally stunning, dog friendly, decent internet connection, good food, "camp like" vibe, clean, owned by the state
Cons: dated rooms, poor water pressure and for those who care...no television....More
We've read the reviews here and approached our family reunion with a great deal of caution, not knowing if it would be the place we remembered. Our family has had 3 Cousins Camp get together here over the last 25 years. It offered a distraction-free...More

Hello, I grew in in PG and have returned to stay at Asilomar number of times over the years. This is a conference site first but they really advertise to individuals now also. This new property group sells rooms as to location on the property, fireplace, ocean views are now extras. What is a "ocean view" to one may not be to another. They don't like to tell where your room will be because of conferences. I'd goggle a map of the property and you can see where the rooms/buildings are set. The 800 number people are in AZ. and really don't knew the site at all. I'd ask where my room is, most ocean views are in a nice areas. The rooms are dated but clean. They have plans to redo them this coming year. Asilomar Beach is right across the street, you can't get any closer. The grounds are very nice, it's a state park. I won't buy your meals there, to many great restaurant in PG and Monterey.....check TripAdvisor. Carmel is about 7 miles away and you can go into the 17 Mile Gate right up the hill from Asilomar. Merry Christmas
