Amazing hotel/resort to stay, relax, and enjoy nature. Beautiful rustic cabin/lodge style rooms with awesome walking grounds. Conveniently located near the beautifully preserved state beach. Deer and other wildlife can often be seen wandering the grounds. S'mores and hot chocolate making a night. A truly fun and relaxing place to stay.

We didn't stay at Asilomar - but rather, enjoyed a stroll around the buildings and grounds to learn more about the architect. The history of the Asilomar Conference Center is extraordinary - Julia Morgan, one of America's first female architects designed the buildings for the YWCA in the early 1900s. The spaces are lofty, large, airy and art deco...you'll enjoy...

I was expecting more from this place. It had lovely grounds but the rooms and the restaurant was underwhelming. I asked for an ocean view (if I stood in one part of the room and looked between the trees and another building, I had a glimpse. They really need to change their options for booking - this is know as...

We are not fancy people and we don't need posh accommodations but this was ridiculous. If I new we would feel like we needed to leave our shoes on in the room and not touch anything, we would have stayed somewhere else. This place has literally not had any updates (or repairs) since the 1970's. There were stains on the...

Love it! Beautiful, well maintained grounds... Staff were so helpful and really wanted you to be happy! Food was good and the paths to the beach were way wonderful! Rooms very old and in need of updates but huge and clean. Big outdoor heated pool, no one used was great! They ran things with lots of people very smoothly... and...

My room was hughe- 1 queen and 1 twin bed. First floor in the Stuck Up Inn; supper clean and quit. Loved the fireplace and pool tables in the lobby, and fireplace in the the sitting place in the inn where my room was. Saw a whole family of deer in the morning, right out of my window. Beach only...

I thought the room would be better than it was. The hotel grounds themselves are not too difficult to get to. However the walls are fairly thin and the rooms are kind of small. The staff was pleasant enough. I wouldn't mind returning, but my wife does not want to based upon what you get for the price they charge....

Once upon a time, We heard about the spartan accommodations at Asilomar. Ugh. However, we gave it a try and loved it. Great price point, wonderful hotel like rooms at the top of the hill - our preference. Fun breakfast buffet ( think college) and superlative location. Easy walk to the ocean....Trader Joes right up the street for snacks, etc.

The buildings are set up in clusters with easy walking to other buildings and facilities. Think of a college campus that isn't too spread out, but rustic wood 2-3 level buildings instead. No refrigerator, phone or TV in the regular rooms. I recommend you bring a cooler for beverages. Otherwise, just like any other hotel room, but older furniture. King...

This is a republish as I had forgotten I was logged into another account. We had the recent Thanksgiving day pleasure of visiting Pacific Grove. This location offers a retreat from the hustle and bustle of the tourist areas in Monterey because it is on large grounds but fits into the environment quite well. It has several enticements for the...
