Sure, nice ground, beautiful environment but, let's be real, this is dormitory style living. Lobby/Check In- A. I mean, you drive into this place and you're thinking - WOW! This place is stunning. No doubt the grounds and location are amazing. The lodge/check-in is equally amazing. Rustic but well kept comfort. The staff at the front desk were very friendly,...

We stayed here in July on a Saturday night. After much research we decided that Asilomar was just what we were looking for - to quote Asilomar website: "Asilomar offers charming, rustic accommodations perfect for anyone dedicated to rest and reflection. In keeping with this tradition, guest rooms are free of modern-day distractions such as telephones and televisions" We stayed...

We just got back from our family reunion. Asilomar is perfect for this kind of a get-together as it can handle large groups and the communal meals make everything easy. Asilomar's situation along the Pacific coast with sand dunes and cypress trees lining the property provide magnificent vistas as you walk the paths from your accommodations to the communal rooms....

The pillows in my room smelled like dirty hair and the shower did not drain and backed up into the bathtub.I was standing in 5 inches of water while I took a shower.I went to the manager and he gave me another room. The pillows and the shower were better but the toilet seat had feces on it.that only partially cleaned...

People travel for lots of different reasons. Perhaps two of the most prevalent reasons are relaxation and adventure. Asilomar satisfies both in a big way. With its beautiful grounds, easy hiking trail to popular Asilomar Beach, many outdoor and indoor living spaces, you can't help but relax. Adventure? Well for me adventure equals new experience. Something out of the ordinary....

The highs are high and the lows are low. I was here for a conference. The location is phenomenal, so close to all the Monterey Peninsula highlights while being right off of the beach. It was really easy to walk out to the beach or the nearby boardwalk for walks or trail runs. The scenery and setting is really lovely,...

A fabulous spot. We could look at the ocean from out deck. If you want an ocean view be careful what room you book. The room was adequate but spartan; no frig, no phone, no TV and the WiFi was a pain to use. This is a huge place so don't expect the normal B & B breakfast. I would...

Asilomar is located in a State Park, so you can visit it anytime, see the historic (and wonderful) architecture of Julia Morgan, with some exhibits, and of course a beach, some forest, wildlife. Watch out for poison oak, it is all around, but I did not see any warning signs. Reasons not to stay here: we were at a conference,...

Large room with an open view across the entire side. Thankfully, no TV or other distractions. MInimal furniture but functional. I thought the food excellent and the staff everywhere, from the receptionist office to cleaners and servers, was great. Made friends with Placido Domingo :). Starbucks in the reception center. Beautiful architecture, with buildings made of wood; 10 buildings designed...

For $65/night off of a long broken down highway it would almost be reasonable, $300/night for a room that looks like something straight out of the bates motel is outrageous. Here for a conference, the facilities are poorly laid out, the AV is awful, the rooms are terrible (wall paper falling off the walls, holes in the carpets, windows will...
