We try to visit at least once a month. We love the Courtyard rooms but if you want to save $, the hotel rooms are fine too. Longer stays it's best to get a condo. With 3 pools, 2 jacuzzis, restaurant, bar lawns and lounge...More
This was our second stay at Desert Sun. It is our favorite clothing optional destination.
Service is exceptional! Manager Michael is very helpful and always ready to answer questions or take you on a tour. Front desk staff also very helpful (shout outs to Amanda,...More
Beautiful grounds and well maintained. Three beautiful pools and two hot tubs. No clothing is allowed in the pool areas. People here are very friendly. Not a swingers venue so you don't have to worry about getting hit on every five minutes.

We have just returned from five days at Desert Sun Resort. The resort is beautifully maintained, the rooms are comfortable and well-appointed and the staff is attentive. However, there is one HUGE negative that results in my rating of only three stars – the “music”...More

I am glad that you enjoyed your stay at the resort. We try to provide different music for our guests to enjoy. None of our music is taped or a playlist. We recently upgrade the volleyball pool music to XM Radio for Business because there...More
Just back from a 10 day visit to the Desert Sun Resort. Weather was great even when skies cloudy. Everyone was either at pool, or if it got a bit windy, headed to hottub. The grounds keepers do an amazing job of keeping the grounds...More

Your ages are spot on for the resort, no worries there. Desert Sun management is very motivated to keep a friendly and naturalist type environment always. I've never had a moment of "ick" there. The environment will probably be slightly more restrictive than you experienced at those other places, but not oppressively so. Like everything else in Palm Springs, it depends a little on the week. The nude bridge is open but there are only private residences across it, no lodging options at all and you would need a resident to give you a tour. Condos there can be purchased and generally there are a few that are rented in a normal month to month local type lease. Right now it is against their covenants to do any other kind of rentals.

Paul, my wife and I were there during the mid-week when no specific activities were planned other than sunning, or using the pools (3 of them) and spas (2) on property. The tennis courts were available and several people also donned their walking shoes for laps around the property (from court side remodeled units all the way over and behind the newer condos).
Several people made new friends and were seen leaving the property for dinner on the days when the restaurant was closed. There is a gas fire pit near the restaurant (across from the office) which was a very popular attraction for folks to gather after dinner.
The sun worshippers ranged from young people in their early 30's all the way to couples in their 70's. The average age could have been around the 50's but I could not say for sure. I do know that everyone we met during our (5) five day stay was extremely friendly, courteous, and easy to strike up a conversation with.
This is an excellent place for a "first timer" couple; please go into the desert sun website and check out the pictures. You can also communicate with the DSR management if you want further clarification. Please let everyone know how your first experience went at DSR.
