My wife and I had our 2nd. visit this past weekend and had a wonderful time. We like to dance and party in the evenings so we chose a weekend with a Friday night karaoke (which also enabled dancing) and a Saturday night dance party...More
The resort was very relaxing. This was our first time and our first visit, the staff were great and the other couples we met made us feel very comfortable. Our room was nice and clean. We will be back. Thank you Michael for encouraging us...More

Your ages are spot on for the resort, no worries there. Desert Sun management is very motivated to keep a friendly and naturalist type environment always. I've never had a moment of "ick" there. The environment will probably be slightly more restrictive than you experienced at those other places, but not oppressively so. Like everything else in Palm Springs, it depends a little on the week. The nude bridge is open but there are only private residences across it, no lodging options at all and you would need a resident to give you a tour. Condos there can be purchased and generally there are a few that are rented in a normal month to month local type lease. Right now it is against their covenants to do any other kind of rentals.

Paul, my wife and I were there during the mid-week when no specific activities were planned other than sunning, or using the pools (3 of them) and spas (2) on property. The tennis courts were available and several people also donned their walking shoes for laps around the property (from court side remodeled units all the way over and behind the newer condos).
Several people made new friends and were seen leaving the property for dinner on the days when the restaurant was closed. There is a gas fire pit near the restaurant (across from the office) which was a very popular attraction for folks to gather after dinner.
The sun worshippers ranged from young people in their early 30's all the way to couples in their 70's. The average age could have been around the 50's but I could not say for sure. I do know that everyone we met during our (5) five day stay was extremely friendly, courteous, and easy to strike up a conversation with.
This is an excellent place for a "first timer" couple; please go into the desert sun website and check out the pictures. You can also communicate with the DSR management if you want further clarification. Please let everyone know how your first experience went at DSR.
