Our stay at the Desert Star will provide us with a new standard against all future rentals will be compared. every aspect of the decor and furnishings were well chosen, clean, comfortable and - as a wonderful plus - aesthetically pleasing. We were there in cool, rainy mid-January, so we didn't get to take advantage of the pool and outdoor...

Fabulous mid-century suites motel located in a residential area of Palm Springs. Very peaceful and quiet, yet a short drive to all that The Springs has to offer. Unbelievably comfortable bedroom suites with living area and well equipped kitchen. All suites face the lovely pool area and as an extra added bonus, all suites enjoy a private patio area perfect...

The Desert Star provides a secluded, quiet and authentic mid-century historic vacation experience. The apartment/hotel is run by a gracious and welcoming couple in a secured courtyard facility with only six units. The units line two opposite sides of a central pool and an intimate outdoor entertaining court with a dramatic mountain backdrop. We stayed in Unit 2 - a...

We had a friend who owns one of the condos here and booked another to spend the weekend with him in Palm Springs. It's like getting to stay in a little art deco museum while being allowed to touch and enjoy everything. We had a fire pit on the terrace to keep warm during the cold night (which we didn't...

This is a great small condo hotel. It's like your friend let you stay at their vacation house, very quiet, beautifully decorated, and very cozy. We had a super time here. The location was about perfect just far enough out of downtown to be quiet, also close enough in to be convenient. I t was just a few steps away...

Oh my. I debated whether to write this review or not; this truly is one of those places you kinda want to keep to yourself. But alas.... As others have said, this is really a unique space in Palm Springs. Six bungalows, great salt water pool and gas patio fireplace, and amazingly styled and comfortable rooms. The Desert Star is...

We're so pleased we chose the Desert Star based on the reviews here. It's small so feels like more of a retreat, and with Richard living on site it's almost like being a visitor in his guest wing. They clearly thrive on repeat business. The property is immaculate and stylish - a mix of that infamous Palm Springs modernism and...

We've been coming to the Desert Star for years and have never had anything other than a spectacular time. We tend to go during the off seasons (November, Feb, March etc) and we almost always have the place to ourselves. Even if we didn't, with only 6 bungalows in the whole place it'll never get too busy, and we've met...

We were in room #6 and it was perfect! Clean, great A/C, nice furnishings and a great patio. Scott greeted us and then left us alone to enjoy our Palm Springs adventure. We will definitely stay at the Desert Star again and we will definitely recommend the Desert Star to friends/family. Awesome!

Am so thrilled that I picked this little gem to stay in -- LOVED LOVED IT!! Made friends with other guests (only 6 rooms in total) sitting around the fire by the pool -- how amazing is that! Beats large anonymous hotels hands down (and I say that as an extensive world traveller). Very close to the downtown and a...
