It is a great hotel with lots of character!! Very Clean. No complains. Got coffee in the morning. Have a large upstairs balcony that overlooks the main street of Placerville. In good weather that would be great. Easy walk to multiple places to eat. Overall a very good stay.

i would have given a higher rating but the room was either freezing cold or roasting. The hotel is a historical site with all the charm and ambiance. Located on Main Street it is within walking distance of an array of great restaurants and shops. The elevator in the hotel is worth the trip. It defines "old school." The rooms...

My husband and I stayed at the Cary House Hotel a couple of years ago for my birthday while visiting apple hill. I am a hotel snob because of my job so I was nervous to stay in the "oldest hotel in placerville". Well to my surprise it was beautiful and had so much charm. The staff was very polite...

Wow! What a blast from the past - Walking into the lobby there is beautiful woodwork, and elegance 1859 style! We were well taken care of by Josh, very affable young man. The staircase is very authentic. Our room was on the left end of the 2nd floor hall, with a view of Main St. The decor was fine and...

We love old town Placerville and have stayed at historic Cary House hotel at least twice a week for years. Have always enjoyed our stay until this weekend celebrating our 38th anniversary. We hadn't been there since last December I believe and it's either under new management or struggling to keep relevant. We were not made aware that there was...

This is a beautiful old hotel with lots of history. It is like staying in a museum with comfortable rooms and amenities. The staff are helpful and nice and the rooms are very comfortable and cozy. The location makes it easy to park your car and walk to shops and restaurants. The Queen suite was cozy and comfortable with beautiful...

Loved our experience at this charming hotel. The location was perfect for our trip to Apple Hill and downtown Placerville is a little gem. The manager of the hotel, Josh could not have been more helpful and accommodating. We are going to make this an annual trip.

We stayed Halloween night in this establishment and very much enjoyed ourselves. Counter help very nice, room was nice, spacious, old, and very comfortable. Got great help with parking. We don't travel to California much, but we might just come back next Halloween just because we enjoyed ourselves so thoroughly during our short visit to Placerville.

The hotel is average but the price is above average for the kind of quality and services one gets at this hotel. I cannot say anything bad about the hotel or our room, but I cannot give it a wonder review either. I understand historic and trying to preserve an old style hotel, but one tiny bar of soap, no...
