We stayed 2 nights recently at Knob Hill. Janet, the proprietor, was very pleasant. The room is as described on the website and photos in other reviews. The location is perfect - you can walk into town on a trail through the woods - we walked back on the road at night though - trail would be a bit dicey... More

I'm heading to Point Reyes this week and I am again staying at Knob Hill. This is the best bang for your buck. The place is quiet, safe, clean and affordable. A quick search of lodging in the area and you will find most of the limited places are bit pricey. If you want a free breakfast, a lavish room... More

We stayed 2 nights in the Master Suite in April. The location and price where very good for us as we were there to do some hiking at Point Reyes National Seashore, it worked out well. The previous review states some downside to this property. The Jacuzzi tub is very deep and if someone has mobility issues it may be... More

We stayed in the large suite. A bucolic setting. Nice deck. A gas stove in the morning. Cathedral ceiling; nice view; very quiet. The bed was comfortable; clean; well-furnished. There is no door between the bedroom and the bath--only a wing wall separates the toilet/tub area from the bed area--it is essentially one large room. Perhaps it is our midwestern... More

The Little Room is spare and clean, with a small outdoor area that makes it feel less cramped. The mattress, however, is soft and lumpy and needs to be replaced. There is also no information in the room about restaurants or hiking. If I did not know Point Reyes well, this would have been a problem.

I am so sorry that you found te bed uncomfortable. People have different preferences as to the kind of bed they like and it is hard to please everybody. You obviously did not look on the bureau, where I had left you a Point Reyes National Seashore map, which is extremely detailed with all the hiking trails listed. As to... More

My stay in the Little Room was great. The room was extremely clean and the bed was reasonably comfortable. Also, it offers access to a tiny garden, very well kept, with two Adirondack chairs and a small little table. You can access this garden from this room only, so it's very private. The place is only a ten minute walk... More

We recently stayed in the Little Room, having previously stayed in The Cottage, which is now unavailable. We found the room just as advertised; a cozy room accessed by its own entrance, with double bed, private bath and small garden. Knob Hill is located on a dead-end street, far enough off Hwy. 1 to provide plenty of peace & quiet.... More

All in all our stay here was fine. The little room was clean and warm. We just stayed one night before moving on up the coast. That being said, I would not stay there again and would not recommend it. Janet was not friendly in our correspondence and gave very short answers both on the phone and in email. There... More

Thank you for your comments. I'm so sorry we didn't meet. I tend not to bother people, since most of my clients come for the peace and quiet that my place offers, in order to truly enjoy our beautiful Point Reyes National Seashore. However, I am always on the property to answer any questions and to give advice as needed.... More

If you are looking for a no frills, peace and tranquility place to stay while visiting Pt Reyes than this is the place for you. Janet was very nice and accommodating, asking us almost daily if there was anything we needed. We enjoyed the kitchenette with little fridge, dishes available and some biodegradable soap and dish tray under the bathroom... More
