This hostel had everything we needed for a great budget stay. Parking available. We arrived late and the woman at the front desk was so sweet and gracious... we had a nice large room and even had breakfast the next day. A real bargain... would definitely come back again.

I brought my scout group here to spend the night before we visited the state capital. The boys and dads stayed in dorms and the moms had a private room. The rooms were beautiful and fairly comfortable. The staff was very nice and accommodating. Kitchen was great, limited but good continental breakfast. Perfect location for a quick walk to the...

I often have meetings in the area and this place can't be beat for convenience. I have probably stayed here 5 times in the past year. (Once in a shared dorm, and the other times in private rooms.) It's clean and such a good value. The history of this place is very cool as well. A private room here is...

The propriety itself is beautiful and apparently well maintained... It has an excellent location as we walked almost everywhere (Golden 1 Center, Amtrak Station, Capitol, etc.). We stayed in a private room with ensuite bathroom but there were no towels in the room when we arrived.

The restored Victorian mansion is truly beautiful and fun to explore, but that can't make up for 2 nights of poor sleep and close to the quickest shower I've ever taken. I stayed in a private room (shared bath) and the walls were paper-thin. I could hear everything going on in the room next door. Maybe it was just bad...

I am a Hostel International junkie when I travel alone This is my favorite Hostel International in California. It edges out Santa Monica HI because of its breakfast, tucked away movie room And an amazing staff. Careful you might get a sweet tooth from their desk candy Check out their basement game room. The kids will love it Centrally located....

I hadn't stayed in a hostel for at least 10 years. I was pleasantly surprised that I no longer had to do chores before leaving and was amazed that there were private rooms! I stayed in Room #10 - a private room with a private bath. I thought the price was good ($115) considering the location and the fact that...

The hostel staff are efficient and knowledgeable. I particularly enjoyed how clean and quiet the room is. I made new friends and took great photographs of the Capital area. I look forward to recommending HI Sacramento to my European acquaintances.

I have not stayed at a hostel before and was not sure what to expect. I enjoy staying in a particular environment and just thought hostels were not my cup of tea. I will quickly say that I was wrong. I did upgrade from a dorm setting to a double bed with a private bath. I do draw the line...

“Rooms on the parking lot side are quieter. I'm not sure if there is air & the old building would be brutal in the summer without it,”
