I chose Casablanca Inn solely because of the great reviews I read online. I rarely get to take days off and I wanted to relax without traveling too far from where I live. Casablanca Inn reviews were great so I thought this place could be perfect to spend overnight to relax. Check in went wonderful. The front desk clerk was very nice. He even stood up and showed me around, I was very appreciative. My room was 1st floor, right off parking lot (window away), and no view, nothing like I saw from the website photos. There are microwave, mini refrigerator, and even mini kitchen sink, which was wonderful. Also I found out the bathtub was one of those “jet” equipped big tubs! I was very happy. Room was old but clean. I saw “coffee available in front desk” from website (I thought….) but I did not see one. It rained during my stay. I was planning to walk a lot, but that was not the good idea with the weather. The neighbouthood was surrounded by “auto” repair places, and right next to Coaster station. There were quite many “questionable” people all over, walking around, and I really did not feel safe, nor comfortable. I was just about to take a bath and eat something what I got from take out, and looking forward to it. Then, I realized my heater was not working. I called front desk, and someone came in to check, turned out my heater unit was broken and needed to replace it. I asked it would take a long time, since my room wall AC unit was quite large (size). He said it would take 10 min. So I waited. They did not offer to switch the room. He came in 30 min later (by the time I was freezing), and started to remove the broken unit from the wall, then put on new one (I thought new one). It was just “another” old heater, he put on. It took almost 1 hr and my “bath/dinner” relax time delayed. As soon as he put the different unit, I realized the unit was “older” and dirty and making huge, “construction” motor noise, like wall-shakes and unable to hear the TV sound, then also I smelled “burning”. I asked the guy if he smelled “burnt” but he said no. I just wanted to relax so I let that go. Well, it was rumbling horribly after that. Not just a “noise” but rumble. I wanted to complain but it was late and I did not want to go through any more troubles. I could not sleep because of the noise, so I had to turn the heater off to go to sleep. I woke up during the night, and found out the Power was out. Complete dark. Since I was no longer wanted to stay here and could not wait to Leave, I decided to browse through internet until morning, and realized wifi was down. I called front desk and asked if it could be restored, and he said it would be later on today. This long waited vacation that I was looking forward to, was nothing like I expected and I cannot tell how disappointed I was. This is definitely not worth for what I paid for. I am really hoping that I would receive some kind of words from the hotel for this Heater/Power/internet malfunction experiences with full price of room charge. And I Do hope they would not put anybody into this room after I left, with this heater which made outrageous noises. Please do NOT assign anybody in this room until this Heater unit had been replaced. This is not ethical. Thank you.

Hotel's Favourite
If using as a time share, not equivalent to home base. Units are not the same size and there are not kitchens or laundry in the units. However location to the trolley was excellent. The staff was accomodating but due to Covid-the breakfast was lacking. Not the fautt of the property

Great location (less than a mile from Pizza Port), free WiFi, simple breakfast options included (breakfast burrito, waffle, toast with avocado spread), and spacious rooms. Decor is a bit dated, but not a deal breaker.

I would stay here for the nearby beach (2 blocks away) and shopping at the beautiful San Clemente Outlets. The Tesla Superchargers at the outlet was very convenient. The hotel itself is old but well maintained. We stayed for 3 nights for the Thanksgiving weekend. We stayed at room 313 on the 3rd floor for the building directly above the covered parking area + driveway near the lobby. Since it's pandemic, the daily free breakfast is limited to freshmade waffles, fruits, coffee, tea, toast, and microwave burritos and muffins from Costco. I skipped the syrup for the waffle because of High Fructose corn syrup (it's just me). Free parking onsite. One thing I noticed was the tight on-site parking situation as it could only accommodate small cars. Despite the sign indicating parking is for compact only, many large vehicles use the spots anyway. I'm thankful street parking was safe as it is in a semi-residential residential area. Even for compact cars, the spots were really tight. Room had space for a couch but didn't have it. Toilets are not tightly bolted on the floor. So you'd feel it's rocking when it's being used. Also, the small bathroom window on 313 will not shut close. Very old. There really is no lobby. Breakfast area is on the other side of the large ground floor next to the pool. City(or probably county) mandated no masks for fully vaccinated guests. I'm fully vaccinated + booster but masked the whole time anyway. Towels not changed daily. That's fine with us. But i thought i'd mention. Staff were nice. No problem. They just didn't enforce proper parking etiquette for guests. There's a restroom on the ground floor next to the elevators but they're for hotel staff. Guest restrooms are at the pool area. I thought it's confusing to place a staff-only restroom next to the elevator lobby. There's a nearby Dollar Tree store in case you need supplies like an airfreshener for the toilet. We used our timeshare points for the stay and paid a nominal fee for the exchange.

Older place, room was clean and quiet. Does not at all look like the photos so perhaps they gave us a room that had not been updated yet. Courtyard and pool areas were nice and it was close to the beach. This stop was part of a longer trip up California coast so we stayed one night only. Parking was included and the sunset was free!
