I agree with other reviewer that complained about clumping. Walls thin, no carpets so least movement on floor above reverberated through ours, no door on bathroom, so lest tinkle heard by other sharing room, no tubs in any room, breakfast such as it was outside even though very cold out side, same breakfast each day, very expensive, on a weekend... Myself and 22 Colleagues stayed here as part of an offsite event for our team. It was more of an event than a Hotel Stay. The Hotel is of course amazing and beautiful, but it is connected to a Winery and Fine Dining. Frank the Owner and Alfonso the Manager literally advised they were intent on selling an experience rather... More

My husband and I felt we were in a very special place. The staff is out of this world and they make you feel special in every way. Sitting in the courtyard with the beautiful olive trees watching the stars makes you feel you are in Tuscany.

We were so very impressed! The best accommodations and staff I've ever dealt with. This lil no name town has a hidden gem within! The hacienda del leal is very beautiful, clean and relaxing. Alfonso and his staff are very thorough, kind and seem happy to be at this lovely hotel. The hotel is connected with the winery Leal. I... More

Booked here for one night for a business trip with other peers managers. The Leal family has done a lot to make this an upcoming destination or stopover in a location that doesn't have much to offer. Upon pulling up, we were greeted at our car with luggage assistance and bottles of water for all. Check-in offered a glass of... More

My wife and I were a little dubious when we made the reservation simply because this hotel was not a "name brand" and located a little off the beaten path. We should not have been concerned. Recently updated with first class service, attention to detail and a really nice morning wake-up with a wood-fired oven warming muffins in the courtyard... More

From the outside, if you check in during daylight, a little disappointing since their marketing photo is taken during the night with festive lighting, BUT !!!! the rooms are nice, CLEAN, large appears totally renovated short time ago. new fixtures and showers, just fine. Staff: outstanding customer focused and totally reliable, pleasant and a no problem attitude. Good breakfast was... More

These are the thinnest walls I have ever experienced in 50+ years of travel. We could not sleep because of conversations in the next room and 'clomping' in the room above us. These also woke us up repeatedly. When the hotel is not full, why do they clump the guests together? Internet was not reliable. Keys would not work with... More

We were visiting San Juan Bautista to see the mission and there are really only two hotels in San Juan Bautista - the hacienda de leal looked like the better option so we stayed there. The hotel looks like it has just been remodeled. All the rooms surround a very charming central courtyard filled with trees and there are tables... More
