I stayed here with my twins aged 9, and we all loved it. This motel is in a fabulous location, and for the price, is an excellent bargain. It is a no-frills, clean motel without anything fancy, although our room did have a small refrigerator,...More
This fun pink stucco motel with planters filled with succulents was the perfect setting for a mother/daughter get-away. It is located right on Main Street Santa Monica, literally nestled among coffee shops, boutiques, restaurants and of course a couple of short blocks to the beach....More
The room was very dated though the bed was comfortable and the shower fine. The large vanity bench in the bathroom and large mirror were great. It's about a 30 minute walk to the main shopping area, we found limited options for food close to...More
I'm surprised the Sea Shore ever has a vacancy given its ideal location, super friendly helpful staff, spotless rooms, awesome vintage fifties mid century decor, free parking and super-reasonable rates. We chose it based on the strength of other reviews but gladly affirm how perfectly...More
This motel was absolutely perfect for our one-night stay in Santa Monica. The location was ideal--within walking distance to a bunch of cute shops and restaurants. The room was comfortable and spacious, and the front desk staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We will be...More
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller
coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.

It is not at all close or convenient to Hollywood or Universal. LA is very spread out and traffic is horrendous. I did the four hour tour as well, just for an overview and found it plenty. The stop at Universal was very brief, however, so not really enough time if you want to see more. Perhaps one of the two day, hop-on, hop-off tours would work for you to visit all the places at your leisure.
