When I made the reservation the person on the phone did tell me about the construction going on next door but it stopped at 5PM and started at 7AM and that was not a problem for me. But what she did not tell me was that the street noise is a problem all night long. I wore earplugs but still...

This is a really lousy hotel. In the middle of a construction site, gravel crowded parking lot shared with a noisy restaurant, dumpy, damp, shabby rooms. Street and neighbor noise all night long. They'd get $65 a night sao webers else, maybe; instead, they charged us $169 plus a parking fee! Bad water pressure too and no one home when...

Since it's not hard to find $350 hotels in Santa Monica, Ocean Lodge should be viewed in its proper context, financially speaking. It seems overpriced yet is lower than pretty much anything else. Perhaps less forgivable than the low-$100something room rates is the $20 parking fee. I don't mind low-end accommodations. I'm not counting the threads on the sheets. But...

We stayed here in feb 2013, we arrived a little late at 9 pm and there was nobody available in the front desk; the whole office was closed and an envelope was kept with our name on it which had keys and instructions. When booking this hotel, be sure to consider 20$ per night parking fees ( which we thought...

I have stayed at this hotel four times over the past 7 years, with my most recent stay having been in late 2011. (I would have sworn that I had left a review for this hotel in Dec. 2011 on TripAdvisor, but, if so, all traces of it have completely disappeared from the site. ...!). I like this hotel, as...

When my daughter and I walked into the room, we were horrified. Not worth the $180 they wanted. We left right away and went elsewhere. Had to do some talking to get my card credited but finally they did it. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. There are way nicer hotels down the street for a little more but...

Floor in bathroom seemed dirty. Paint/paper was chipped and ripped. When i booked the room i was told it was completely . renovated in the past 2 or 3 months. Obviously it wasn't. Rooms were so small it was hard to maneuver around the family's suitcases. And to top it off there were jackhammers pounding outside our room starting at...

The rooms here are clean and large. The establishment itself looks pretty dated from the outside, but considering most people here are tourists and will spend the majority of their time outside of the rooms, it doesn't really matter. It is about a 5 minute walk from Santa Monica pier which is great. A little far to walk to Venice...

We stayed here the end of May, the accommodation was basic but clean, staff were friendly and attentive, location is Perfect for Santa Monica - walking distance from the Pier and the shopping mall. We would stay here again but think it may be knocked down like all the other premises that are being knocked down and rebulit.

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
