We selected the Georgian as it appeared to have character and charm however the first room had terrible traffic noise and was next to a very old lift ; we were offered a second room where noise was still an issue as the bathroom vent emitted sounds from our neighbours child. To be honest we had travelled quite a distance...

I found the staff at the Georgian as friendly as any I have encountered. They couldn't have presented themselves as more ready to make your stay an exceptional experience. They should have prefaced this with "unless professionalism is important to you". House Keeping, what's that! When a hotel puts a coffee maker in your room you expect it to be...

Everything about the Georgian was spot on, from the smiling and helpful staff to the vintage, Art Deco structure, to the tasteful rooms, comfortable beds, delicious food, fantastic location, well I could go on. Some reviewers have raised an eyebrow at the price. They fail to realize that quality costs money. If it were any cheaper, the hotel would need...

Stayed at the Georgian for 2 nights. Booked a sea view double room. Room was lovely, beautifully decorated. It was just before christmas when we stayed at the hotel and the Christmas decorations and tree in the public areas were lovely. The hotel has so much character from its outside appearance and all through the inside of the hotel -...

A 2-glass bottle of wine (the cheapest selection) came to $23. a bottle of water, $7 (and you'll need it to make coffee or tea in the room). The location is super duper ... but it's not as fantastic as I thought it was going to be. The view of the ocean is very pleasant (and you pay extra for...

We decided to take a larger room then originally booked. The room was renovated and had a new carpet. Suite provided enough space, however was quiet expensive. Next time I have to queck beforehand and may be that i will decide to chose five star hotel instead. Reception staff was very good through the whole stay and supported us very...

I stayed at the Georgian Hotel in Santa Monica, California in early December for a girls trip with 3 other women. Our room had 2 queen beds and a partial ocean view. Everything was wonderful in this hotel. It is an old hotel in art deco style. The elevators are old but work great and have so much character. The...

We booked two rooms here for five nights. We got an early check-in on one room after a long flight, which was great. Love the art deco features of the hotel, comfy bed and linens. The second room with two beds was spacious and quiet but the more expensive room with the beach view was not as spacious. Although we...

OK, I get it; its an old place, Its across the street from the Palisades. You have an ocean view. But the razor thin walls, tiny rooms and $26 valet parking fee really makes me feel like I got ripped off. It is well maintained and has some charming art deco touches, but all the hidden charges makes you feel...

This is our second stay at The Georgian. The hotel is charming, the rooms are comfortable and well appointed, and the staff is awesome! Everyone we encountered was professional, friendly, and helpful. The hotel's location is great. Breakfast on the veranda is a treat -- try the french toast souffle. I will stay here whenever I'm in Santa Monica.

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
