If you are staying in Santa Monica, this hotel should be one of the hotels to consider, as it is in the perfect location. Everything is close by; the beach, the pier, and the 3rd street promenade with great shopping and restaurants. The hotel is very old, but well maintained and comfortable. The elevators are a throw back to the...

This is indeed, as has been said, a hotel with small rooms, but as it is some 75 years old, I think it can be forgiven. If you are looking for direct beach access, large public areas and fawning service you will be disappointed. But if you want to stay where the movie stars stayed in the Golden Days and...

I spend probably 20 nights or more a year at this hotel for business reasons. I try not to stay any place else when I'm in Santa Monica. I love the tiled bathrooms and the ceiling fans. I love the old, wood-paneled elevators. I love the staff, who are helpful but not intrusive. I love that the rooms are not...

After reading many reviews of this place, I was really looking forward to staying there for a weekend. Loved the art deco facade when I arrived, but the room was really quite small and there was very little space to hang out with a friend and have a glass of wine in the room. So we went looking for public...

We fell in love with art deco during our trip to Miami earlier this year. We chose The Georgian for that reason and we were not disappointed. I had seen it on previous trips to SM but never really took a good look. The decor is authentic art deco and since we were having great weather, the lobby was open...

We recently stayed for one night at the Georgian Hotel on a spur of the moment idea. We were only able to secure a Queen/Queen room, but it was a delight. From the moment at check-in until we left we were treated as old friends. This hotel was built in the 1930's and has all the art deco charm of...

I stayed 1 night at this hotel in early september. I booked a sea view room at 380$. I expected a lot from this hotel after reading all the positive reviews on here - I ended up a little disappointed. The hotel is obviously nicely located on the seaside. Parking is not too much of an issue and the hotel...

Our family (4 persons) stayed six nights at the Georgian in June 2011. we liked the look and feel of the hotel, but were expecting a bit more. We had to book a suite since there were no longer two rooms available. The suite is particularly well suited for more than two. The living room is a bit shabby and...

We stayed for three nights in the Signature Suite on the top floor - with a great view back towards Holleywood. Better of course would be a view to the beach, but alas, such family friendly rooms are not available in that direction. Anyways the hotel is logistically situated perfectly in Santa Monica, the rooms are very nicely designed with...

We had planned to stay for three nights, but due to hurricane Irene we could not fly on to New York and stayed for another three nights. It was the best place to get stuck! We enjoyed the hotel very much!

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
