What a great hotel -- right on the beach and super luxurious. It definitely had the feel of an old time Los Angeles hotel and culture with completely modern amenities. The food was great, the service spectacular and the location amazing!

Thank you so much for the great review! I am delighted to hear that you enjoyed your visit. The hotel was built in the 1920s as a beach club and part of its charm is the classic architecture enhanced with modern facilities. I am especially pleased that you enjoyed our level of service; we strive to maintain that impeccable level...

Amazing hotel- Great views, staff and location! From the second of arrival you could tell that you where staying in a true 5 star hotel. Was a little bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. All the staff where amazing and interacted with you on a personal level instead of just being another number.

Despite being a member of the Leading Hotels of the World I found my stay here very poor. I paid for a Premier Ocean View room and was disappointed with the restricted view and overall size of the room. The room was nice but nothing special to match the top $ price tag. We were originally booked in for 7...

Location - awesome! Right next to the pier and the bike path, perfect for relaxation, sports, fun and sunbathing! The beach is beautiful, too bad that all the accomodation you can get are some unconfortable beach chairs (not sunbeds) and umbrellas for the price of 30$/chair/day and you have to walk A LOT through the hot sand to get a...

I have stayed at Casa Del Mar three times now and found it wonderful each time. The location is the best and the service was very good. The food, lobby and pool were all up to my expectations. The only negative is their policy to overcharge your credit card upon arrival for the amount of your stay and then some...

Terrific staff, big comfortable rooms with excellent amenitites. We enjoyed the beautiful lobby lounge, the bar, and the general ambiance of the hotel. It's perfectly maintained, and staff goes out of their way to be welcoming and courteous. It overlooks the beach. The pool is quite small, though, on an upper-level patio.

Our go to choice when visiting Southern California. The historic building has a passionate filled team that goes above and beyond expectations without even asking. This is our third stay in two years and we also appreciate how well they retain a staff of familiar faces. The rooms are beautifully decorated with period furniture, moulding and fixtures. The tastefully appointed...

Casa Del Mar is a great hotel if you are in LA area and have two days for beaching living. We checked in after spending a few days in Orange County after a few days of convention. The hotel is on the beach, but due to a parking lot near by, not every room has panoramic ocean view. The room...

We booked here as a bit of a treat, having searched through various hotels in and around Santa Monica, wanting somewhere nice. The room prices are a little steep but we felt it was worth every penny! We opted for a 'standard' room, no ocean view etc as frankly those were beyond our budget and if you road other reviews...

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
