My wife and I just returned from an overnight stay at the Barretta Gardens in mid-October. We were on a tour of several towns in the California Gold Country and had planned one night in Sonora. We had reservations at the Barretta Gardens and had a great experience. Both Danny and Astrid were great hosts. The house was very well...

My husband and I decided to "get away" for the weekend and booked the Cabernet Savignon Suite at at Baretta Gardens. It was perfect. The bed was very comfortable and the private sitting area provided extra space which we used and enjoyed. The hosts are most welcoming - we arrive late (Friday traffic!) and the hosts invited us to eat...

One of the most significant things that makes a B&B more than just the run of the mill are the owners or staff members. We found Barretta Gardens on line and carefully read all the reviews going back to when the previous owner’s owned Barretta Gardens ending in 2005. Danny and Astrid took over ownership sometime that year. You won’t...

We had a very comfortable stay at Barretta Gardens. It is well thought out in terms of making it comfortable for guests. Our room for example had a plexiglas panel that at first look didn't make sense. In the morning I noticed what a great job it did in dampening the noise from morning street traffic. Each room has its...

Astrid & Danny have done an amazing job converting this classic Victorian into a welcoming home with all of the character, comfort and service of a great B&B. As well as having delightful bedrooms, the house and gardens are full of relaxing settings where you can party with the hosts or relax in peace. Also a good location for exploring...

We found the Barretta In online and were delighted to learn that they have recently remodeled a very comfortable suite, called The Merlot, to be handicap-accessible. It has a spacious bedroom with plenty of room to move around, and a very nice roll-in shower. The decor is elegant, and the fresh and beautifully presented breakfasts served by a smiling Astrid...

My husband and I just spent a week at Barretta Gardens and had a lovely time. It's a beautiful, quiet house located in the perfect Gold Country location. Yosemite is just an hour and 45 min away, and many of the old Gold-Rush towns are within 30 min. The best part of the inn, aside from location, was the great...

We have stayed at Barretta Gardens in the past and it has always been the best place to stay when in the area. Sonora is close to everything and we have used this as our jumping off point for trips throughout the area. Barretta Gardens is the best value for our money and actually is a better bargain than staying...

A lovely old house in a great location. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. They've struck a nice balance between making things convenient and accomodating, on the one hand, and giving you space and privacy on the other. We felt right at home. Everything was very clean, which is important to us, and the breakfasts were generous and delicious....

Our stay was amazing! The house is gorgeous, and there are historical pictures and information in the living room about the house and also the town. The house is furnished with beautiful antiques, and feels very homey and warm. Our room was the cabernet room, and was so nice. It has a wonderful bedroom, with a fireplace and a very...
