Great location, nice staff and quaint decor, but the rooms are in dire need of an upgrade. Beds are uncomfortable and the bathrooms aren't even up to par with current Motel 6 standards (although you do get higher end toiletries). On the technology front no flat screen TVs, no electronic keys and although there is free wifi it's too slow...

We sat on their large patio overlooking the Truckee river having a drink and eating our dinner. The sound of the water rushing over the rocks was wonderful. It is a beautiful setting. It's decor is rustic inside. Very clean, friendly staff so we had no complaints. A continental breakfast is included. We would stay there again if given the...

Just a few minutes from the Resort at Squaw Valley where we were staying, we decided to go here for dinner based on our view of this resort from the road.. A brief rain wiped out use of the outdoor patio so we elected to dine in the bar area sitting at the bar. Very nice bartender took our order...

The dining is superb, and the head chef, Julia, is one of the few in the area who is leading the Farm To Table degustation festival at Squaw Valley Ski Resort this year. Service was supurb as was every dish from the first to the dessert. The wines matched perfectly, and we followed up with a few tipples from the...

We have been coming to River Ranch for 30 years. We always look forward to watching the rafters come in .....the food at the restaurant is always wonderful. We have experienced a horrific stay this week with very rude receptionist whom "said" she was the manager and also with the the office manager. Watch out!!!! When checking out, they had...

Superb location on the Truckee River and very good dinner in the restaurant but nothing else redeeming about this place. Our room was dirty and musty and there was black mold in the shower; we bith developed breathig difficulties in our 1 night stay. A covering of dog hair littered our deck. the desk personnel were rude at check in...

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights in March 2012. It was snowing. We were a bit apprehensive about the condition of the room after reading all the reviews here. But we were pleasantly surprised. But 1st off - the reception desk - it's under the stairs to the right of the main door - very quaint position,...

Although this small lodge does not have tons of amenities - no room service, no hair dryers, many of the best rooms open to the outside, etc. - we love it. It is so very charming, a real, old fashioned ski lodge very close to Alpine Meadows and not too far from Squaw Valley. It has not been fitted out...

All I was expecting from this lodge was a neat, clean, and small no-frills room close to Squaw and, if lucky, a slight river view. That's all. And it still failed to meet my very spartan expectations. When I walked in to the lodge I thought I must have mistakenly walked in to the restaurant because clearly there was no...

My husband & I stayed here for 2 nights and loved it! We stayed in one of the rooms that looks over the Truckee river and it was beautiful!! The room was cozy with everything you would need. The bed had a soft down comforter which makes for really good sleeping with the sound of the river flowing outside your...
