The website creates an impression not fulfilled when you stay there. We stayed in 12 hotels/motels on this trip and Tamarack would ranked second from the bottom. No breakfast except on weekends which they charge for. Terrible TV. No air conditioner only heater. Called office...More

The Tamarack Lodge was a great place to stay. It is surrounded by pine trees, but fairly close to the main road. The Lodge is adjacent to a California State Park with a nice hiking area. Our room was clean and had a refrigerator and...More
They were very helpful and accommodating for me and my fiancé. It gives a great Wilderness feeling while you’re there and lots of great history with also great surroundings. I will be staying there again on my next visit!

Both N. Tahoe and S. Tahoe are worth a visit. The South is more commercialized with large casinos. N. Tahoe is a little less commercial. I like both...and there are pluses and minuses to both. I like to stay a couple... More
Both N. Tahoe and S. Tahoe are worth a visit. The South is more commercialized with large casinos. N. Tahoe is a little less commercial. I like both...and there are pluses and minuses to both. I like to stay a couple days in S Tahoe in a hotel...and a couple days in the North in a cabin or lodge.
