Old school ski chalet with simple bedrooms and inviting great room. Breakfast prepared by chef, made to order. Option to dine in as well in the evening. Manager Bryan expertly navigates daily operations and even operates the shuttle to Alpine Meadows. My family had a wonderful ski vacation meeting interesting guests and enjoying delicious fresh meals at the Chalet. We...

Stanford Alpine Chalet hosted our group of 8 for a Sun-Tues work retreat. Brian, the manager, made we sure we had all the space, AV equipment, and other supplies we needed, and helped us figure out how a bunch of non-skiers could have fun around Lake Tahoe in January (we went tubing and had a blast!). The meals were great...

I've stayed here at two different occasions. The first was as a participant in a business-related retreat four years ago. The second was for a family reunion with over 30 people. The Stanford Alpine Chalet (SAC) was ideal for both. I recommend extremely enthusiastically. WHY YOU MIGHT LIKE THE STANFORD ALPINE CHALET 1. Picturesque setting. Located adjacent to the Alpine...

The Stanford Alpine Chalet has been at the top of our ski list for decades. When I was a single woman, it was heaven -- a European-type pension with communal breakfast and dinner tables and a ski bus to the slopes. As a mom, it's been family heaven -- the Great Room and hot-tub where the kids congregate -- and...

We stayed at the Chalet over the 4th of July. As others have said the rooms are spartan (the lack of air conditioning was a real challenge one night). We chose the chalet due to some of the rooms sleeping 5 (a real challenge at most hotels). As others have stated the staff is friendly and the morning breakfast is...

For $110.00 a night (FOR LABOR DAY WEEKEND!!!), this is the best kept secret in Tahoe. 2 miles at the end of a mountain road, SAC sits on a bluff overlooking Alpine meadow Ski Resorts runs. You cannot see any building due to a stand of trees which gives you a feeling of being on the top of the world....

We've come to the Stanford Alpine Chalet every winter for years. The place is small (16 rooms?). The rooms are designed to fit 3-5 people each, so there are frequently a bunk bed and a double, and each room has its own bath. The rooms are far from fancy (dresser drawers often fall out, bathroom fixtures sometimes broken) but recent...
