We stayed here on our drive up the coast line. The tiny town was so peaceful. The hotel staff is very friendly. The room was quaint. If you are looking for a place to get away from the hustle and bustle, this is it. We walked across the street for breakfast. It was a nice night.

Starting from Monterey, we drove north, hoping to get somewhere north of SFO on the coast by nightfall. Alas, traffic in San Francisco, and a side trip to the top of Mt. Tamalpais (highly recommended) put that plan to bed. Thank goodness for this hotel - it was exactly where we needed it to be! It's an old building which... More

After a day of serious hiking through the beautiful Pt. Reyes National Seashore, we headed for Valley Ford Hotel, having made reservations for a room several months in advance. The check-in process was not a smiling face behind a polished marble countertop, but an envelope left on the front porch bench with our name artistically scribed in perfect calligraphy. Our... More

On a busy holiday week we didn't have much choice for a last minute reservation, so we booked (got the last room) at the Valley Ford Hotel. This is one of the oddest places we've ever stayed. Think the early parts of Beauty and the Beast. Lovely place but no people in evidence. If you are desperate for a place... More

Great place, rooms are very comfortable, coffee is good in the morning. Dining options in Bodega Bay. Plan to go to hog island oyster company, if visiting on week end, restaurant looks very good. I enjoy it.

Hotel located in a very tiny town near Bodega Bay. If you are looking for a room with television, there is none. The room was somewhat small but large enough. Bathroom shower very nice sized, and overall, the room/bathroom were very clean. Had problems with the internet, couldn't get connected. The main drawback to this facility is that the owners... My husband and I stayed here a few weeks ago for a little break before our baby is due. We were so looking forward to a quiet weekend away and from reading the website and reviews this seemed to be the perfect place. Sadly, we did not have the experience anxious future parents should expect! We had booked the dog... More

We've been coming to the Valley Ford Hotel for several years now and keep asking ourselves why we don't make time to do this more often. The rooms are clean and comfortable and delightfully sparse (bring a book!) We always enjoy Oysters Rockefeller, the bar service is always friendly and the cocktails are first-rate. Shona and Brandon have done a... More

Our room was really nicely done, great paint choices and minimal, but practical furnishings. Dinner at Rocky Oysterfellers was fantastic. The bar was packed, and the bartender seemed quite overwhelmed, but when the drinks arrived they were good. We will be back.

The Valley Ford Hotel has been an inn and restaurant since 1864. It is in a tiny town in the rolling hills of rural Marin. The owners were friendly and accommodating, even getting us a safe place for our 4 bicycles. It is absolutely quiet at night.....you could have been backpacking. Bodega Bay is not too far if you need... More
