One of the most underrated music events in Los Angeles are the weekly Desert Nights acoustic series curated by Valida (KCRW). There is not many LA music venues that offer Americana/Folk/Country to start with, but Valida always surprises me with her exceptional ability in finding...More
Been here many times over the years. Hotel is nice, decor is cool but the real shining light of this place is the Wed night acoustic series Desert Nights. Super intimate, sit by the pool while some indie up-start strums on acoustic guitar. Totally chill...More
The Standard is a great environment--great shops, great food, and great music. Desert Nights is an especially nice event held regularly there! Performance art in the lobby! French fries in the dinner! Excellent drinks in the bar! Great music at Desert Nights!

For years, West Hollywood has been known as a hub for the LGBT communities in Los Angeles. Today it still maintains the title, but has also become the “it” neighborhood for the entertainment industry’s up-and-comers. Producers, directors, writers and aspiring actors call this area home. Known for great boutique shopping, vintage clothing stores, home décor shops and fitness studios, West Hollywood is a grid of
wide boulevards and narrow residential streets. The neighborhood also has a concentration of the most avant-garde restaurants in Los Angeles (rivaled only by the burgeoning restaurant scene Downtown). A trip to the iconic Sunset Strip, with its many clubs, music venues, hotels and flashing lights won’t be forgotten.
