We had a wonderful one week stay in a one bedroom suite at this property. Very clean and nicely decorated like all of the other Kessler properties. Small, only 63 rooms. We stayed in a spacious one bedroom suite with a creekside view. The hotel is located very close to the gondola and lifts. I have to mention how great the staff at this hotel is. The service was outstanding. Paula, the front desk supervisor did an amazing job setting everything up prior to our trip. Mika the front desk agent (and apreś ski bartender) really made our trip special. She was so inviting and accommodating. We looked forward every day to apreś ski to spend time with her. Definitely recommend.

Giving 2 stars for constant hyping of ski in ski out.  Despite management’s attempt to defend their marketing, guests do not view this as a ski in ski out resort.   Stayed a week during ski season, didn’t see a single guest “ski in ski out.”   This may also explain why there are no photos on the hotel website of the ski in ski out feature.  Unclear why management is more interested in attracting new guests than reflecting on the many complaints from prior guests about no ski in ski out.  In particular surprising coming from a Marriott branded luxury hotel.  However, the ski storage is very convenient and the short walk to the base of the mountain [with very useful escalators] is very easy.  Otherwise would have rated the hotel highly.

Dear TEEEEE2, I am sorry that you feel we are hyping ski in and ski out at the Beaver Creek Lodge. We do have reasonable ski in and ski out access from the hotel. You can go out the front of the hotel and put your skis on across the street, and ski down to the Elkhorn lift. Our staff encourages our guests who pick up their skis at the ski valet on the second floor to exit the hotel and cross the Covered Bridge to the escalators and the Centennial Lift. This provides a much experience for that guest as this is where the primary services are located and the main mountain lift. Thank you for coming to the Beaver Creek Lodge and we hope to see you again this season. Paul A. Jeppson General Manager

The Beaver Creek Lodge is part of Marriott's "Autograph Collection." I love Marriott for the excellent service and usually consistent quality of the rooms. For that reason, the Beaver Creek Lodge, Autograph Collection was a slight disappointment from the perfection I have come to expect from previous Marriott stays. Lobby staff (valet) and Front desk staff were all excellent; very welcoming, very helpful, very friendly -- exactly what I've come to expect from Marriott hotels in America, Asia, Europe, South America, etc. View in common area was great - common area were all beautiful. Warning: "Creek View" from our first floor room was NOT worth the extra we paid for the "creek view." We could technically see the small creek out back, but only barely from a corner of the window -- I felt so silly paying the bit extra after I opened the curtain and "found" the creek. Room looked good and was of a comfy size (albeit "cozy"). However, the heater did not work our first two nights, so we couldn't get a good sleep until we realized the heater was broken and asked for maintenance to fix it -- then the temperature became very comfortable at night. Bathroom shower must have been renovated or built by an incompetent contractor -- the shower pan was sloped improperly AND the seal around the shower door was not installed and caulked properly, causing water to pool on the wrong end of the shower and leak all over the bathroom floor and onto the carpet in the room... We had to point the shower head as close to the control wall as possible to avoid flooding the carpet outside the bathroom -- UGH. Cleaning/housekeeping staff were the least friendly staff I had ever encountered at any Marriott hotel: they just grunted or gave me a mean look when I pass by and give them a friendly (smile on my face) "good morning" or "hi." And they do a poor job stocking the rooms forgetting to put in hand towels or just plain not stocking enough for a family of four when they do come in for cleaning. Bar staff was very friendly - Karen was especially helpful and friendly the couple of times we visited. It was a pleasure sitting by the bar. Restaurant food was OK -- staff was helpful/friendly. Food was both s-l-o-w from the kitchen and lower quality than expected. (I know it was the kitchen's slowness and not the server because we watched Karen bring our food as soon as it was available at the counter to her.) I had actually booked a table for Christmas dinner, but on one of the prior evenings, my wife and I sat at the bar, and we ordered one chicken dish for her. We sat and watched the full staff in the kitchen rush around like they were under a lot of stress even though the restaurant had only a few tables occupied. Our food came out almost 45 minutes later with slightly undercooked chicken. We were very surprised because we saw what we thought was a lot more staff in the kitchen than for a restaurant the size of the Alpine + Antlers, so we had expected at least prompt food prep. Either the kitchen staff is not very well trained, or they don't know how to pre-prep ingredients, or the restaurant must have hired temp help for the holidays? We couldn't help but wonder how worse it would be on a night when the restaurant actually had a "normal" load of customers -- so I quickly canceled our family's Christmas dinner reservations and booked at a different restaurant after watching the live performance. Good thing there all the other restaurants in Beaver Creek that performed beautifully and served exquisite food. Overall, would we use the Beaver Creek Lodge again? The front desk service was great, but we're not so sure... as loyal of a Mariott customer as we'd like to be, and as good as the front desk and valet staff were, I'm not so sure we would risk the same hassle with the maintenance and other issues when there are so many other options in the area in the same price range and quality level.

We chose to vacation in Beaver Creek after reading several articles calling it one of the best places to vacation for beginner skiers. My family and I had only skied a few times and really wanted to stay in a resort where we could learn and where logistics were easy. Beaver Creek Lodge delivered that. The location was perfect, rooms were above average (we stayed in a suite), service was great, and everything was convenient. Ski rental is on site at Christy's or a very short walk (2 - 3 min max) to Epic Mountain Rentals. Even if you don't rent from Christy's, the resort will store your gear overnight which was great for us. There is no shortage of equipment rental and attire in the village, which is all within a very short walking distance. Slope access is also a very short walk and made easy by escalators. I was worried about the logistics of it all since we didn't really know the drill, but staying here made it quite seamless. If you're going to Beaver Creek to learn to ski, this a great place to do it. I would also highly recommend booking a ski lesson at Beaver Creek ski school. Our instructor was beyond wonderful and she helped facilitate an amazing day on the slopes for our family.

My wife and I were visiting Beaver Creek to celebrate her birthday and to enjoy the changing colors while hiking. As Bonvoy members, we selected the BC Lodge given its convenient location. We were welcomed warmly by the GM Paul, and his team. Our room was well-appointed, and breakfast at the restaurant was yummy. Champagne at check-in, warm cookies in the afternoon and an evening wine tasting made us feel so cared for. We were so impressed that we are planning our return visit. Thank you to everyone on the staff who made our short stay a memorable one.

Location is convenient to many good restaurants and shops. Fitness center was clean and well stocked with towels and had free weights and 2 aerobic machines. Room was large with a mini kitchen and a nice automatic gas fireplace. The bedroom and bed was comfortable. Bathroom was small and had a tub with shower head. Would prefer a walk in shower. Negatives: $30 mandatory parking fee in summer that goes to $60 in winter. Too many texts to my cellphone!! Several were inviting us to dine in their restaurant, but that restaurant was closed the night of our arrival!!

We are departing tomorrow but wanted to post asap in the case anyone is seeking lodging over Memorial Day. This hotel in insanely nice. But beyond that the staff is incredible. Came here from Texas for our Anniversary / 5 nights. The staff was so considerate with welcome gifts for our anniversary - well beyond a simple box of chocolates. The Antlers Restaurant was very good and breakfast was extremely good. The hotel is attached to the Beaver Creek Complex so simply drop your car and everything is within walking distance. Again from the management to the cleaning staff everyone was so gracious and helpful. Marriott did well on this Autograph resort.

Very comfortable and quiet hotel. Walking distance to ski lifts. Hotel rooms are set up with a small living area with couch, wet bar and separate bedroom. Maid service is very good. We also used the hot tub, steam room and sauna. Facilities are very clean. We will definitely stay at this property again.

The location was very nice with a two minute walk to either good restaurants or the slopes. There is a bus right out front if you need to go down to Avon. The hotel also had some nice add ons like cookies in the afternoon and wine and s’mores before dinner. We used the pool a couple of times. Nowhere to really sit if the kids are in it inside but they enjoyed and the outdoor hot tub was nice for everyone. The problem with the hotel was that our room was very dirty. There were lucky charms on the floor by the window, the remnants of a bloody nose seemingly on a few walls, a random toy we found on the ground and used toilet paper in the toilet when we checked in. We didn’t get around to telling them about this until later in our stay as our son got sick and we were dealing with that. At first they were not very apologetic but then they handled it well once the manager was involved.

I love the Lodge but judging by some of the negative comments it does seem the staff could do a better job explaining the ski in ski out part. I’ve been skiing beaver creek for 25 years so I know where to go but if you were going to the main Centennial lift, then no it’s not ski in ski out to that lift. Beaver Creek has lots of lifts, though, and the ski in ski out is right out the front door, not into the village. You ski down the trail to the Elkhorn lift. When you’re done for the day, you take the skiers bridge from Strawberry Park to right across the front door from the lodge and in a few steps you are in the lobby. If you’re using your rock skis, you could even ski right to the front door. Now, admittedly, I would rather take the escalators to the main lift myself, but there is no false advertising here. Also, I am a titanium Marriott member as well and one of the most annoying things I run into is titaniums who don’t read the T&Cs about the program and how it doesn’t apply to every property. Resorts are not bound by the same rules as corporate Marriott Hotels so bitching about them not providing a service that they’re not required to just shows you are kind of feeling entitled. Giving one star for that is classless. I’ll be back to the lodge in the summer myself. Being right on the creek is truly awesome.

Responded 22 Feb 2023
Hello MusicTraveler2, Thank you for your detailed and honest review of Beaver Creek Lodge. I appreciate your attention to the ski in ski out aspect of your property and I agree. Better communication about this amenity is an opportunity our staff/marketing has to better guest experience. I also can appreciate and empathize with your frustrations with the limitation of your Elite Member benefits at this resort. Unfortunately with the size of our resort and it's popularity in winter months, accommodating the many Elite Member requests we encounter is an area for improvement. It is a puzzle we are working to solve as it does pain both guest and staff to deny these earned benefits. It is my hope that the next time you stay with us you do not encounter this disappointment. Again, thank you so much for your thoughtful review. I am truly pleased that despite the opportunities you see at Beaver Creek Lodge, you have enjoyed your time here. We look forward to welcoming you back on your next visit to Beaver Creek.
