We stayed here for three nights from 25th August. Value for money. A bit dated, but clean, with very comfy beds and pillows. Breakfast is adequate. Most important of all, the staff were super friendly and were always ready to provide us with tips and ideas for sightseeing. Also, close to Old Town for eating and close to the river Arkansas.

The carpets and bedspreads were somewhat worn but the staff were friendly and helpful and the stay was enjoyable. My room was clean and the fridge and TV worked perfectly. Great value in todays market.

We asked about breakfast and was told that bacon and eggs were on the “continental breakfast” menu. The breakfast is all lactose and carbohydrates. The manager told us that we were told that by a “third party” when we called them direct. Said they had t had eggs since before COVID. I don’t think they’ve had them way before that if ever. So they lie on the phone, and then to your face.Good luck lactose and gluten intolerant. They removed the hair dryer from the bathroom. Just bring your own pillows too. Oh, and there is no elevator. That’s really good to know when your knees hardly work anymore. The manager was heard complaining about inquiries to the hotel and was barely civil.

Disappointing room that wasn’t very clean. Shower curtain was stained with paint and poo. Found trash on bathroom floor, mirror was filthy. Alarm went off at midnight. Smoke detector was beeping, staff didn’t have a new battery so they can and disconnected it. Screen on window was open and bent. Floor had newer carpet however a dog appeared to have chewed it. Bed made terrible noise if you sat or rolled over. Only highlight was tiny pool and hot tub.

Avoid at all costs. Place is run down, the employees are awful individuals who refuse to offer basic services to the guests, or any type of hospitality. You be better off on the streets. Maybe that's where they find most of their staff. All the rooms are smoked heavily in, and the food is old, and moldy. Coffee was just as bad and old. Please don't stay here. You'd literally be better anywhere else in Canon city.

We were only sleeping there and going to Pikes Peak and Royal Gorge during the day. It was the perfect location between the two. Also right across the street from the Royale Gorge train. Clean rooms, good breakfast. Good amount of parking and the ice cream shop was right next door.

Pro: 1. Staff was very friendly 2. Location was near Main St Cons: 1. Room smelt bad. We quickly found this was likely due to A/C not working. 2. A/C broken. Motel did not have fans we could use and we had to sleep in a room that was sweltering, even with the window opened. 3. Safety. We did not feel very safe sleeping with an open window on ground floor that opened into a shady looking alley. 4. Pool area. The smell of chlorine was overwhelming. 5. Main door lock. Was very difficult to open. We helped another lady open her door, so we know others were having problems as well. 6. Bathroom door. Was awkward and too close to main door. You can not get in or out of bathroom unless main door was shut and nobody was standing near it. 7. Breakfast. Found mold on one of the bagels, which I threw away. 8. Overcharged. I was charged $1.50 more than my quoted rate. I will be reaching out for this refund. I would’ve left this motel, if it were an option. However, there were no other availabilities in the area on this night. Front staff said they couldn’t move me, as they were completely booked up. I asked for them to call management or maintenance and call me with any possible remedies. Nothing. We checked out early AM, and waited in lobby to ensure our complaints were heard. Unshockingly, we had to wait behind another couple with their own complaints. I was offered a $44.16 comp. This would make my room total $62.16, which I still feel was way too much for these accommodations. This is one place I will avoid upon my return to Canon City.

We were truly not expecting much of this Econo Lodge. Let's face it, we just needed a place to stay overnight while enjoyed whitewater rafting and the Royal Gorge. To our surprise this turned out to be one of best little places that we've stayed. The staff was extremely friendly and offered so many good recommendations for great food in the area. They were able to accommodate our need for adjoining rooms and the place was super clean. We got a lot of bang for our buck here!!

We found ourselves staying 6 nights instead of the reserved 2 because my husband was ill. The staff, besides being uber friendly, went way out of their way to accommodate us even though it was busy. The front-desk staff always had a smile and greeting for us, and the housekeeping staff were very attentive as well. Our room was clean and comfortable. One of the maintenance men even took us to the emergency room when he was off duty! We are so thankful to have found this gem of a place, and the town had wonderful things to do as well.

Everyone kind of knows what to expect when they go and stay at an econolodge I believe. In this case I’m taking the time to write a review, because the staff was so friendly, nice, and just helpful. Went to check out early, and the friendly front desk manager offered up breakfast and coffee before it was laid out for the guests. If I find myself back in Cañon City, I know where I’m staying.
