No frills, but friendly and reasonably clean. It was nice to be able to park right in front of the room. Cons- the air conditioner pulled in smoke from the neighbors smoking outside. This was less than pleasant, especially because the smoke was both tobacco and cannabis. While there are restaurants within walking distance - beware. There are no sidewalks...

Thank you for your 4 star review. We are working to renovate the property since purchasing it in June. As far as the smoke, while we are marketing our hotel to outdoor recreation and bicycle tourists, and all of our rooms are non-smoking, the smoke has been somewhat troublesome for us. We do appreciate those abiding by our non-smoking room...

I reserved a room for one night. Was a little unsure based on some comments on here. The check in lodge building and office has an old west feel. Kinda cool. There are a series of buildings that have two rooms in each. This made it nice from a noise perspective. Had a street running through the middle of it...

We stayed here one night......Sept 10 to Sept 11. After reading reviews here and on booking.com I felt we were probably getting"bang for our buck".....and Buffalo Lodge was closer to the things we wanted to do. Our king room (#109) was newly remodeled with new carpet, new paint, and perhaps some new bathroom fixtures. .....and new TV. The staff was attentive, friendly and...

Family owned motor inn in the Colorado City section of Colorado Springs. Owners were very nice and helpful. Price includes continental breakfast. Great value for the price. I'd stay here again anytime.

I was excited to finally stay at one of the iconic hotels near Manitou Springs, but was sorely disappointed by the Buffalo Lodge. We had a room with two beds and a kitchenette. When we walked in the room, it smelled like old cigarette smoke--instant turn off, especially after having just been told there was absolutely no smoking in the...

We love this place! There is an old town feel with a private road going through the middle and kitchenettes in each room . The pool is clean and the lodge is off the beaten path. Walk to food and shopping. We loved the old fashioned street lights, the neon sign and the lodge for breakfast. I felt like I...

This place is under new ownership and the owners are working diligently to upgrade and bring this place back to its glory days without losing its charm. The owners were delightful and customer service outstanding. This is not a typical 5-star hotel---if you are counting on cable, wifi and high class amenities, this place is not for you. We didn't...

The family and I normally would stay away from hotels that are not of the chain variety, but we were late planners during peak season in Colorado Springs. Having said that, I'm glad we stayed here. The staff (bought the lodge a month ago), were super friendly, accommodating, and informative. You could tell they were really excited about taking over...

Historical hotel in a very quiet area, within hiking distance to Garden of the Gods. Interesting collection of friendly guests . . . and abundant wildlife including rabbits and deer. Nice pool, walking trail nearby for cool morning walk. Definitely not your average overnight stay; very peaceful. Rooms VERY large and comfortable. New owners are enthusiastic and friendly. If you...

We chose this motel so a large group of us could enjoy our 2 nights stay as a group. The option for all of us to get together after the days activities was what we were after. The buffalo lodge provided that. there was a pavilion we could use next to the pool. there were ample chairs and tables outside...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We are a family-owned, vintage hotel with a western theme. The Buff is your base camp for adventure and a great place to relax after a long day hiking, biking and exploring the sites of the Pikes Peak region. Located on a popular designated bike route connecting Colorado Springs and Manitou Springs, we are in close proximity to countless miles of biking and hiking trails at the base of Pikes Peak, and are less than a mile from the majestic Garden of the Gods Park, voted the #1 Park in the U.S. and #2 in the world on Trip Advisor. Our rooms currently are nothing fancy. We purchased the property in June 2016 and are working to renovate. Our first suite renovation to a bicycle-themed, bicycle-friendly, group suite that sleeps 5 - 11 people with a kitchen, family room and private yard is now complete and available to rent. Other rooms sleep from 1 - 6 people and range from $75 for a single Queen to $145 for group suites with kitchens and $159 for our king hot tub suites. ... more   less
