Let me preface by saying I am an ambassador level with Marriott, meaning I stay more than 100+ Nights per year with their hotels. So I'm no stranger to hotels and their beds. The Brown Palace will rank as the WORST hotel bed I have ever stayed on. In 16+ years with Marriott. I do have some back pain issues and I have stayed in places around the world and usually I'm ok with 99.99% of all other hotel beds. However This is so uncomfortable. It's nearly 3AM as I am writing this because it's literally too miserable in here to sleep. This feels like flooring. Also, You cannot open windows here to get fresh air and the thermostat doesn't work properly as it's stifling hot in here and there isn't a way to adjust the air blowers at least. The front desk is marginally helpful but much of it seemingly is out of their control at this hour. As for other service experiences, this hotel has a popular afternoon tea, however they outright refused us service deeming they were sold out and I watched as multiple tables went free with no one sitting there. It seems more like the hostess did not want to be bothered to serve us. Mind you we were just a party of 2, not a party of 15. Whatever the reasons, For $260 a night and a hotel so rich in history, there was an excitement about staying here, but this place has been a COMPLETE AND TOTAL disappointment. Maybe this particular bed is a one off, but they insisted all beds are the same. It's Horrible. If you like sleeping on something that I imagine feels about as hard as an airport floor with blankets You'll love it here.

A friend who once lived in Denver told me that I should definitely try to do Afternoon Tea at The Brown Palace while in the area. While exploring that option on the Internet, I learned that hotel tours are offered and I knew I wanted to learn more about the historic hotel. I was not a hotel guest and was traveling alone, so the tour was pricey, at $60, but I'd do it all over again. I was able to schedule the tour after hours, at my convenience and Debra, the hotel historian was absolutely delightful in sharing not only history of the hotel, but of Denver as well. She is a wealth of knowledge! It is truly a shame that the the current owners are changing/modernizing the space; it is losing its charm and becoming cookie cutter. Take the tour and learn from Debra; you won't regret it!

The first night there it took 30 minutes and a call to the front desk to get hot water! Then they charge $59 a night for your car to be parked there…as a hotel guest! The breakfast buffet, where you help yourself ended up costing $91 for two of us! The room temperature was not controllable and was very hot at night. When we arrived we put some food in the mini fridge in the room, 2 days later took it out and it was not cold at all. Had to throw out food. As much as they charge for a room, I expected much better than this. Will never return here.

We visited the Brown Palace on October 10th and had a very pleasant and positive experience. The room we stayed in was decorated in art deco and it was beautiful, clean and very comfortable. We had high tea and so enjoyed listening to the pianist John Kite, eating scones, tea sandwiches and little desserts served on beautiful china and silver from the time period. Very very pleasant and attentive staff. From the front desk, the valet, the housekeeping staff, servers, and restaurant manager, we were treated like royalty. The hotel itself is so historic and beautiful. The atrium is breathtaking and we loved walking around the hotel and observing the original and historic architecture. We ended our evening with a light meal and cocktail at the Ships Tavern which was also a very pleasant experience. You can tell the employees are happy working there, as there were smiles everywhere. Can't wait to go back!!!!

We stayed here for a historic girls weekend. We LOVED to tour, but we’re quite disappointed in the way the newest owners are removing the history from the hotel. The 8-9th floor have nothing historic about them at all anymore. Modern light fixtures and room decorations. Their decorating team must have had impaired vision when installing the wall paper, the seams don’t line up curtains are hung wrong and weren’t even pressed after removal from the package. They left NOTHING of historical value or importance. They did some horrible redecorating in meeting rooms and elite dining areas as well. Really, leopard print carpet?! Super sad for the “HISTORIC“ Brown Palace. If you’re staying here I highly recommend requesting a room from the 7th floor or lower. Take the historic tour and also pre-book the afternoon tea. We plan on coming back to view the Christmas decorations as well as seeing this year’s champion Stock Show steer who visits the lobby of the hotel yearly! Great traditions here- hope the newest owners stop erasing the history.
