After hiking the N. Inlet Trail all day, we were able to walk thru downtown to the hotel for a great nights sleep! The room was clean, beds comfortable, staff friendly. We really appreciated being able to stay for only one night!
Within walking distance of everything in Grand Lake. It's a beautiful place to stay and what a view! The whole town is very quiet and small town away from the city. You can't go wrong with staying here it's clean and everyone is friendly.
We were efficiently checked in by Al, even as he was training a new attendant, and given a large clean queen bed room with new carpet, good bed and pillows, good linens, a table with 2 chairs, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and a small vanity outside the bathroom. cons were: very dim bedside lamps, and very slick bathtub. They do not offer breakfast, but do have coffee and ice in the office area.
Location is perfect for all the quaint downtown shops. Walking distance to many restaurants, too! Rooms were exceptionally clean and spacious. Complimentary wifi is always a plus, and everything was in working order upon check in. Only had experience with staff and check in, and he recommended a great restaurant! Pleasantly surprised.
The proprietor was visibly ticked off that we used Red Lion website to book a room. Said if we called him we could have got the room cheaper. Dinky and even dangerous parking lot - fortunately, we were there early enough to get an actual space instead of parking out on the highway. In spite of no smoking signs posted, our hallway was strewn with ashtrays and butts. I requested a single queen ground floor room, and, of course we got a double Queen upstairs. Lobby was closed in the morning although signs say lobby open at 8. Doesn't matter, these people are unfriendly. The room itself was actually pretty nice but not $150 nice more like $60 nice. We really got taken here. THAT won't happen again.
