This was a perfect place to camp in our Airstream trailer and the owners couldn't have been any nicer! The park and bathhouse are IMMACULATE (there are even nice shampoos and soaps to choose from in the bathhouse). The park is just 4 blocks from downtown Lake City, so we were able to walk to a restaurant for dinner. We...

We were there 4th July and wound up in one of the small cabins. They are very nice and located next to the restrooms and showers. It is close quarters but its Lake City and you can walk to everything and the 4th parade route is one block away. Anywhere in the park is a great place to watch fireworks....

Perfect cabin in Lake City. Free coffee in the morning was nice. We didn't need it, but the small heater in the cabin was nice to see as it can get chilly there in the evenings. Easy and flat walk in to town. Fun sitting around the campfire at night and meeting other travelers. Hope to have the opportunity to...

This was probably our favorite place to stay on our 2 week Colorado vacation. The owners are super nice. We had the medium sized cabin and it fit our needs great. The beds were comfortable and the cabin was very clean. It's great as most nights they have a camfire that everyone gathers around and has a great time visiting....

First time to stay but hopefully not the last. Owners Allen and Linda were exceptionally friendly and acuminating. The whole park, especially the bathrooms and showers were spotless 24 hours a day. It was very much like a family reunion like atmosphere. Chris and Vicki Vici, Okla.

We stopped in Lake City after a long day of riding and needed a place to stay. We saw Elkhorn and decided to check it out. The owners were super friendly and accommodating. Even though it was an RV park, they let us set up our tent and were so nice about everything. The bathrooms/showers were comfortable and super clean....

Best place to stay in Lake City! We are repeat visitors. Walking to distance to downtown. The park is well kept and the owners are very friendly and helpful. We always enjoy our stay. The Alpine Loop is right there so it is convenient for breathtaking views via jeeps, 4 wheelers, or motorcycles!

We stayed in one of the cabins and we're blown away. EVERYTHING was clean (cleaner than almost anywhere on our road trip), people were kind and the town is nestled quietly in the mountains. Don't miss the campfires at night to hear about all the people staying there...they were some of the kindest people! We cannot recommend this place enough!!!

We have stayed a number of places in Lake City, and nothing can compare to the Elkhorn. The owners are so friendly and helpful. They have campsites and cabins, all conveniently located close to town. The bathrooms and showers are sparkling clean. There's even coffee in the morning. We wouldn't stay any place else.

About May (when it started getting HOT here), we decided that a summer vacation to cooler Colorado would be a perfect destination. After doing a bit of internet research, we decided that Lake City was just off the beaten path far enough to be what we were looking for: trout fishing, mountain scenery, wildflowers, old mines, Jeep trails, etc.....But after...
