This was our third or fourth visit to Castle Lakes and it seems to get better every time. The scenery is outstanding and we love the secluded camping spots. Very clean facilities and friendly staff. They also rent cabins that are a great option. Great fishing lakes that are lovely and only $7 to fish (no license required). They also...

The campground is located just outside Lake City in walking distance to Lake San Cristobal. To be honest: The campground is "ok"in terms of the sites - a lot better than many we have seen next to highways, but it can be crowded, especially when the big motor homes arrive. The secret recipes is the owners family: Don is one...

We stayed here for several nights and rented a jeep from them. All parts of the trip were handled professionally. We will be back. The only issue I have for this campground is the long drive down the gravel road to get there. It is also the campground's best feature. If you want to get away from it all, this...

This was our second visit. We love Lake City and the whole area. Last time we rented a jeep from Castle Lakes and drove the Alpine Loop. A trip I highly recommend. There are 2 beautiful lakes that are stocked with fish. For $7 you can fish without a license and catch up to 4 fish. My husband caught his...

Our family has been going to Castle Lakes for over five years now. Monica Fuller, and her son Ben do a wonderful job hosting families in the breathtaking setting of the SW Colorado mountains. Fishing, relaxing, and enjoying family time is something we look forward to each July, and there is no place we would rather be than Castle Lakes...

location location location, the view from the campground are amazing. The onsite lakes to fish in were a huge bonus. The sites were a bit short for a 40ft Class A but were big enough and wide enough to have ample room. I love the rule no ATVs driving around in the park and the owner strictly enforces the 5mph...

The first thing we noticed about Castle Lakes, was how well-maintained and nicely situated it was as we drove in. All of the RV/Tent sites are spaced out with a good amount of privacy which is definitely unique! The view was just perfect, the lake neatly lined with aspens making a postcard picture from our spot. The amenities were excellent:...

Peaceful and beautiful. Camped in our travel trailer right along the lake. Couldn't ask for a more relaxing place. Fishing was $7.00 per day. They have cabins, tent sites and jeep rentals. Play ground for kids, general store with limited supplies. Fire pits (wood available to purchase) and tables at each site. Service was great. If interested in Atv's you...

Our family stayed in three of their cabins for five nights. The location is very convenient to the jeep trails and Lake City. VERY clean! Well stocked cabin with everything we needed including plenty of towels. We were really happy that Monica gave us a cabin upgrade. They have a nice playground for the kids to enjoy. We all enjoyed...

There are two things I truly hated about this place.. 1. Being so far away 2. Staying for such a short time. I read every review and I can say this anything under excellent is a total lie. And Monica the host was perfect. Not only kind but caring and made the short stay special in every way.. 6 hour...
