We arrived late at night, and the key was left for us on the door. The room was refurbished some time ago but large, warm & comfy. Staff was great and offered us a late checkout so I could ski nearby in the morning, and have lunch at their restaurant before heading out. Order what the "chef" recommends.

My wife and I stayed at the motel over the Christmas holidays. We were joining our son and his extended family, who were staying at a nearby BnB. I asked the Wagon Wheel Motel if they would be willing to prepare a post-Christmas "Christmas Dinner." Their response did them proud. They prepared a dinner for ten guests, including turkey, dressing,...

Off the beaten path. An excellent place to stay in a ranching town. Hunters, fishermen, bikers, tourists....you name it....they all come. A place the locals hang out at night for drinks or meals. Weekly and nightly meal specials. Prime Rib every other Friday. The chicken fried steak is to die for. If you eat breakfast while staying be sure and...

This is a very quiet, clean, wonderful place to stay. Staff is very helpful. I hope I can return some day. Looking out window to beautiful view with elk grazing in the field below the window. The Grand Mesa was visible out of my room window.

This motel & restaurant is a hidden gem in little Mesa, Colorado. If you want to ski at Powderhorn or hike the Grand Mesa this is the place to stay. Both the motel and the restaurant have been completely renovated and updated. It is clearly a labor of love for the owners, Deana and Travis, and it shows. Which, by...

I'd been hiking at Capitol Reef and Arches National Parks, and I was headed home a day early. I'd seen the sign for Powderhorn Ski Area along I-70 and decided to take a look. The ski area was modern, had friendly employees, and had a good base of snow -- even in late March. So I decided to rent equipment...
