Although this mountain lodge was not as fancy as some of the places we have stayed, for a summer weekend getaway it was perfect. Keep in mind this is a snow ski lodge and is a great place to stay during snow ski season. If you are looking for a nice quiet get away into the mountains where there is... More

Tired from our drive across Colorado from Utah, we were happy to have a warm bed at end of day. Location is remote and we were very low on drinks and food. Plainly said, except for Monarch Ski, the Monarch Lodge is the only other business in town. But no worries with their staff, Marcus and Stella. Stella checked us... More

Very helpful staff, good continental breakfast. The views are very nice and there is a scenic walking trail just outside the lodge. Room was clean and comfortable. Ate good pizza in the bar one night. Mary was very accommodating as was the entire staff. Close to Salida if you need a great place to wander and explore. The town of... More

The hotel is older and an obvious skiers' hotel in the winter, but the staff did a nice job with it all. We were glad to find a place that took pets and the lodge is located in a spectacular setting of fall aspens; good jumping off point for hiking. The small restaurant staff was a bit over powered by... More

Our room was clean & attractive. The bed was comfortable. We asked for a room with view & on the quite side. And, we got it. They added a frig & microwave, as we requested. Yes, the building could a fresh coat of paint. Aspen view out the window was awesome. I can see that during ski season the hotel... More

The wife and I decided to head up to Aspen to take pictures of the changing Aspens. Apparently, everyone else had the same idea as many hotels were completely booked. This hotel had a good rate going, so we decided to book here. The hotel is an older ski resort. However, it was VERY clean and it there were not... More

This place is a work in progress. Some remodeling has been done but more needs to be done. It was clean but old. It was once a spectacular place back in the 60's and 70's and can be again but a lot of money will have to be put into it. It has 3 hot tubs and an olympic sized... More

We had a great experience at Monarch mountain lodge. The rooms where very clean and comfortable. The staff was very helpful and went out of there way to accommodate us. The kids loved the pool, weight room, pool table, and of course the game room. The views were spectacular, we will definitely stay here again.

We had a great experience here on our summer honeymoon trip through Colorado. My husband had been before which is why we stopped but we were treated so well I know we will go back. As soon as they heard we were newlywed, our room got upgraded and we also received a great home cooked dinner from the owner. It... More
