1. We rented the caboose and either there was a natural gas leak or a carbon monoxide leak. I woke up in the middle of the night ready to vomit but once the window cracked open I could go back to sleep.

Great way to unwind after a day of skiing . Hidden in the back woods you won't be disappointed. Don't try and go after dark as it turns into a "adults only" spa. Didn't stick around for that . $20 to get in on weekends...More

I don't think you'll find anyone who can give you a straight answer to this. The weather can be very unpredictable in the mountains (as you probably know, being from Fort Collins). I would say in November, hope for the best but prepare for the worst. If you have 4WD you'll be fine. I have a Subaru and don't own chains. November is right on the cusp- normally I'd say you'd be just fine, but this has been a very wet year and snow could start falling earlier than normal (typically Dec-March is heavier snow season). I'd say go for it if you have 4WD- it's totally worth it. I have also heard there is a shuttle from Steamboat to the springs, but don't know anything about it... Could call and ask.
