villa thonbura is situated right in the middle of pataya , between the the main pataya and jomtien, making is very convenient to move around.
the swimming pool is large and very nice , but is not well maintained, lots of leaves and other stuff floating around.
the rooms are spacious ,and being on the down floor ,it was very easy to access the pool
the staff is well trained and helpful
the only drawback is that the hotel is not located next to the sea., but the price compensates for that

Me and my mother stayed at this hotel at the beginning of June which my brother booked for us. He booked us into a Thongbura room which is a very spacious double bedroom with 4 poster bed. The bathroom facitlities comprise of a bath and very good shower.

The one thing that sets the room apart from anywhere else I have stayed is that you walk out to you balcony and have steps that lead straight into the pool with your own jacuzzi to boot.

The hotel staff were very helpful and always greeted with a smile. This was the perfect hotel to relax in after a long flight and to feel completely away from the hustle and bustle of pattaya.

I would highly recommend this lovely hotel to anyone travelling to the Jomtiem area.

Our family and some friends of the family stayed at this hotel for one month, and we have been missing it every day since. For some it was the 2nd time staying at the hotel, for others their 1st...but not the last.

The hotel is located a few hundred meters from the beach, but well within walking distance. The surroundings are beautiful and quiet...and a great place to rest after a long day. My family stayed at a 3 bedroom apartment, and we were all very happy with our room.

The 3 level pool is amazing, and includes own pool for children.

And best of all: the great staff that made our stay a month we all will remember forever. Can't wait to get back.

Major plus point of this place is its multi level swimming pool. One steps out of his room and there's the pool. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite with a small kitchenette. Surprisingly no in room arrangement for tea/coffee which is a common practice across resorts n hotels. Restaurant menu is limted lacks choice. Breakfast choice was very limited, the lack of choice was made-up by the friendliness of the staff. Ambience of the place is simply great.

We have stayed for just over a week and loved every minute - I could not fault anything. The food had a great varied menu which was great because we have small children that can be fussy. The staff were really friendly and loved the children also. The 2 bedroom apartment we stayed in was always clean, very spacious and very well maintained. The beds were comfy and the rooms were not noisy. The facilities were amazing. The photos of this hotel do not do it justice. There are 3 pools - one which is very suitable for small children, and this also has 2 slides, a slightly deeper pool and then the deep pool (still only 1.5m deep) There are 2 out door bar areas too and also room service, Wifi is an extra cost but very cheap at £4ish for a week. Location is in a nice quiet area not close to night clubs or bars but it maybe a 10 minute walk to a main street. Beach is around a 10 minute walk also.

This was our first time staying at the Villa Thongbura after the year before going only to pay and use the swimming pool, after which we said next year we will stay at Villa Thongbura :-)

The room we stayed in was a double bedroom family room and it went straight out into the swimming pool, which was excellent! Wake up, breakfast, swim, very relaxing.

We ate out every night so can't comment on the main meals but breakfast was very nice and there was a good choice. The staff in the restaurant and around the hotel are super friendly and always said hello - this made for a really nice atmosphere.

I would definitely stay at Villa Thongbura again. Enjoy your stay and book one of the big pool level rooms so you can wake up and be swimming within 5 seconds :-)

Oh just one thing I will mention, WiFi is free but limited to one user at a time in your room. If one person is logged on and another guest in your room logs on after, you will be logged out (hope that makes sense). You may be able to pay for extra login time but it wasn't worth it for us so we didn't bother.

Cheers :-)

The hotel is an older style, but nice in general. It need of some basic maintenance work.

The pool was very nice, but could be cleaned more often. It has many trees hanging over it, so gathers a lot of leaves and other dust etc. When you look at the sides of the pool, the build up of gunk made it clear that it had not been cleaned in quite some time. The in pool bar was good and the service was fast and friendly.

The reception staff were not very polite and quite rude at times. I had to have my key card either changed or corrected 4 times in 3 nights. They were very disorganized and did not seem to know how to program the card properly. Rather than giving you the breakfast vouchers on check in, they made you come to reception each morning to get them. A minor hassle, but just not necessary.

The WIFI was terrible, if and when it worked, it was slow and kept disconnecting. Also, only 1 connection per room was allowed. I used my phones 3G connection to connect my laptop to the Internet and it was many times faster. The in room internet was pretty much unusable. For a second person to use the Internet in the room they charge you an extortionate rate. You are better just going and getting a 3G Sim card for your phone which is about half the price for a week than their daily rate.

The breakfast was basic, but good enough. Get out of the hotel for any other food as the restaurant food overall was very bland.

The hotel is a little off the beaten path, but that is not a bad thing. But the roads nearby are strewn with smelly garbage, so you don't want to walk down the road. Get a vehicle each time. Even when the hotel provided a free golf cart taxi down the road, the smell as you drove past the garbage was horrible.

If you stay here, I advise to get a high floor looking over the pool. The pool side rooms look good, but you can't lock the doors from the outside and have to lock them from in the room and go around (quite a long distance) if you want to swim.

Lovely Hotel with Palm Trees deep green pools and styled like a Siamese Palace. We all loved this Hotel. The staff were all pleasant the rooms spotless and very modern with bath walk in shower etc. Was like our own Oasis of peace after being in busy Pattaya. It has its own excellent Restaurant serving a good selection of Thai and European Dishes all served by friendly staff in beautiful Thai Dress. Is set out of the busy part of Pattaya in Jontiem but 20bart (40p) on the bus takes you strait into town.(Buses run every five minutes.)
To sum up as I say we would go back tomorrow if we could.
PS Internet access from Hotel Lobby was 20bart per hour.

The rooms were spacious and had a lovely view of the pool, which was quite beautifully designed. The hotel was also secluded and charming regarding location. The rooms were spacious, a bit worn, but the standard was OK. The bedroom was nice and the bed was comfortable enough, but one of the bedrooms only had a "glass" sliding door separating it from the bathroom, which I do not see the point of at all, as it looked somewhat cheap and dirty. The cleaning staff, however, was really friendly and efficient.

I do not recommend spending too much time in the pool, as the water was really uncomfortable to swim in for a long period of time. Some of us even developed some sort of rash from the water.

The staff at the front desk were very inattentive and not very friendly, some of them sitting around watching TV and not offering as much as a smile while we stayed there. They did, however, give us the information we needed if we asked them anything.

The restaurant staff were helpful, but it seemed they were preoccupied talking amongst themselves and studying/ reading a lot of the time. It gave the impression that there were just too many people at work, leaving the restaurant looking unprofessional.

The breakfast buffet was awful, with very little fresh food options. They had some warm "dinner" dishes, cereal, bread and ham options, which were all left with no lid on in the heat. I mostly had toast with butter for breakfast during my stay.

Stayed at Villa Thongbura for 2 nights. Lovely big clean rooms, nice swimming pool, OK buffet breakfast. Reception desk staff very poor. Rude and unhelpful. Without own transport slightly out of the way. 10 minute walk from main road and beach.
