For a couple of evenings I enjoyed sitting out front and watching the world go by, the staff are very polite and friendly, so decided to have dinner one night. Makes a change to have Scandinavian food, except... no fish. At all. No Dory, Cod, or Salmon... so ordered meatballs, passable. The advertised footy wasn’t on. Not enough chilled white wine, would I mind having ice in it? Watched a couple arrive with suitcases and the owner couldn’t be bothered to get up and help them sort their room. Try harder please!

The rooms above the bar/restaurant are being let out as an affordable option for budget travelers. I arrived late in the evening and couldn’t find the guesthouse. Finally went to the bar to ask and was told that it was the correct place - they check you in while serving drinks to customers sitting at the bar counter. A different experience for me! You walk through the restaurant and go up a flight of stairs next to the kitchen to get to the rooms upstairs. There were a couple cockroaches scurrying across the floor when I turned the lights on but didn’t come across any more after I killed both of them. The room is a cheap option with lots of restaurants, bars and convenience stores around it. Good if you only need a room on a Budget.

Rooms are spacious and clean. Bar downstairs is just sound. The boss Lars is Swedish and very helpful (he put a football game on for me) Location is fantastic directly across from the beach. The room price was very modest and the staff are just lovely. Anut is a top man, very helpful and arranged a late checkout for us. Totally felt at home here. If you are looking for a 5 star hotel for this price you are going to be disappointed. If you are looking for a lovely friendly and comfortable place to stay in a fantastic location then look no further. Safe travels

We arrive at 11PM. Got shown to room. Complained soon after that the room was not what we booked and that the photos looked totally different to the room we booked. The staff told us that they can't help, talk to the boss in the morning. In addition to the room stinking of cigarette smoke, the entire place had a smoking smell as you entered and went up the stairs. Clearly the non-smoking part is not enforced. We had no choice but to stay as we had paid already and did not want to get another room so late at night. Don't fall for the same scam - the pictures are not at all what the actual room is like.

I had a week in a very comfortable suite. AC, safe, fridge, minibar, waterboiler, double bed, tv in my salon, wifi and three spacious verandas! One with sea view. And downstairs there was a lovely restaurant/bar, serving very nice food and the staff was exellent! It is not hard to see why this place where very popular, crowded with guests most of the time! But it was not easy to buy a cup of morning coffee before opening at nine. From nine am to one pm, daily, there was a buffet with nice food at reasonable costs. Across the street are the lovely beach, and there are shops and bars all around. So at Vickans you are in the middle of everything! Sorry that they didn’t had an elevator, heavy to carry my suitcase up and down the stairs, after all I am in my seventies! Also I became a little upset on my day of departure, since I had to wait 45 minutes for the taxi (ordered three days ahead), in the heat, knowing that I had a flight to catch. Also my payments was very confusing at a couple of occasions, especially on the taxi fare when leaving.
