This place was perfect. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a charming rustic getaway amid stunning mountain surroundings. We stayed at the Prospector cottage which was clean, comfortable, and quiet. We were even able to make a fire and watch the stars under the moonlight. The owners are great people and go out of their way to make...

The best word I can use to describe this place - magical!! We spent 3 amazing nights at the Mount Elbert Lodge last year for my 30th birthday. I get a little teary eyed thinking about how beautiful everything was - you know there is a God when you visit the Rocky Mountains! We stayed in the Cinnamon Bear Lodge...

Looking for the Ritz... or some posh spa? Look away. Looking for a rustic, quiet getaway from the hustle and bustle? book a room or cabin.. We have been several times. Proposed to my wife of almost 17 years while snowshoeing there and we were even married there on the grounds!! Yes, I will concur the cabins are a bit...

We, a group of eight, rented the lodge cabin for two nights in the middle of March. I have traveled a lot in Colorado and this place is one of the bests. It is cozy, beautiful, quiet, spacious, and the price is reasonable. You can do a lot of hiking in this area. The nature is beautiful all year around.

Having a housekeeping cabin is a great way to see the Twin Lakes area. The cabin's kitchen was well equipped with everything needed to make a meal. We would have been more comfortable with a couch in the cabin; the two arm chairs are on their last legs. Although the cabins are remote, they are situated right off the highway...

We stayed in the the Trails End cabin; and it was just that, the last cabin at the end of a drive. We were truly in the woods. It was beautiful. The Aspens were yellow and gold everywhere you looked. The cabin has a large porch with furniture and a grill and there is a fire pit nearby. These are...

We stayed in the Tall Pines cabin. Very homey and cozy. The views outside the windows were spectacular. The aspens were changing color making the views very special. The cabin had two bedrooms, bathroom and living room/kitchen area combined. Plenty of room for my husband and I. Nothing fancy at all, just clean and comfortable. No television, but that was...

We stayed in the Elk Cabin. Everything was amazing and would highly recommend! Came to hike Mt. Elbert. Scott was very helpful with his experiences on hiking the mountain. Perfect place to relax and be "away from the things of man".

Just finished 6 great nights at the Cinnamon Bear cabin at Mount Elbert Lodge -- exceptional views and comfortable cabin, with the hummingbirds all around at the window feeder. Scott and Laura have been hosting guests since December 1999 and they are experts at it. A great getaway, regardless of the season!

We had the perfect weekend at Mount Elbert Lodge in the Prospector Cabin!! We came up to Twin Lakes for a concert series that was being held in Salida. And when we booked our cabin, we were just looking for a place to lay our heads. However, we ended up with a cabin that instantly felt like home and was...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We began as a base camp for miners back in the heyday of Colorado's mining boom and today we are a quiet get-away nestled in National Forest at the base of Colorado's highest peak. Step out of today's hectic world into a quieter time at Mt. Elbert Lodge. We have no TVs, radios or phones in our comfortable housekeeping cabins; we do have a front row seat to the Colorado Rockies. ... more   less

“The Rinker Cabin is more modern, easier to cook in, and handicap accessable. It and the Cinnamon Bear both sit above the highway with good Mountain Views. Most of the other cabins are near the creek, closer together, but you can hear the creek at night, and they are more historic and quaint.”
