Stayed here for one evening, Owners were very charming and very accommodating. Breakfast was superb, thank you for a lovely stay, we will be back - ignore these bad reviews, think they must be talking about a different place!

The room was nice, big and comfy. The hotel has nice character features. Plenty of parking. The 2 downside were no vegetarian main course option the dinner menu and not enough staff in the morning to serve the breakfast properly. The hotel is outside of the town so for us we had to drive to the town to get dinner,...

Only stayed at the hotel for one night with family. We loved the hotel and the staff were so friendly and accommodating. The rooms were clean, the bed was comfy, and the shower was good. We had a 3 course dinner and all of the food was delicious. The hotel was short staffed, but you could clearly see that the...

Met up with friends and stayed overnight. Had a wonderful meal in the restaurant. Excellent steaks cooked to perfection. The meal was served at a relaxed pace and not rushed but staff were attentive when needed. Breakfast was also good. One to revisit.

30/9/16 arrived about 4pm. Nobody at reception. Looked about for someone. Eventually manager turns up. Given no info on breakfast or eve meal. Banister leading upstairs loose and rickety could be dangerous for some one relying on stability. Tiles cracked on bathroom floor in several places and very slippery if wet. Bathroom door needs adjusting. Cannot be shut without having...

Came back to The Kingswell, to eat in the restaurant, following a bit of a disastrous evening with friends. I have to say things were much better. And well done to James and the team, for wanting to make up for the previous meal. There is a new menu, which apart form a couple of teething problems, had quite a...

It took a long time to check in even though there was only one person in the queue in front of us. Once checked in, our room had a dirty sock under the desk. Breakfast the next morning took over an hour! Some guests gave up. Checked out and paid in cash, needed £2 change. This took over half an...

Very pricey and food served in unsuitable dishes. Chips over salted and I like salt! Asparagus burnt and poussin overlooked, not much else on my plate. Friendly waitress nice decor but not impressed with food.

We stayed for a night during the week at the Kingswell and also ate in the restaurant during the evening (and for breakfast). The staff were very helpful and the room was clean and comfortable. Food was generally very good. However, there were a few things that could be improved: - the menu contained several spelling mistakes - we found...
