This B&B needs much maintainance and updating. The bathroom faucets leaked grossly, the toilet seat was broken, their were towels behind all bathroom fixtures to absorb leaks, the shower was extremely small and only a "group" soap dispenser was provided. In addition their were spider webs visable and the room was grossly over decorated with "things". The light switch was located outside the room. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was good.

This B&B, located in the historic town of Lebanon, CT., full of New England charm and a lovely town common, unfortunately needs some lessons in professional hospitality. The first thing we noticed about our room was, that although it was spacious, it was also cluttered in a manner all too common at B&Bs. Every single square inch of horizontal space seemed to be filled with gewgaws, frou-frou, knicknacks, mementos, figurines, antiques and -- that bane of B&Bs everywhere -- seemingly thousands and thousands of throw pillows. This overstuffed nature exaserbated a far more serious second inadequacy: nowhere to unpack. We were staying three nights and had nowhere to put our clothes. The room had a large closet, a spacious chesk of drawers, and even a wardrobe, but we quickly found them all to be full, presumbably of our hosts' clothing. So we were force to make a mountain in the corner of the various gewgaws, throw pillows, etc., to make space on a sofa and table to lay out our clothes. The bed, while large and comfortable, had a reading light on only one side, a serious omission when one has literate guests. The bathroom was, I fear, worse. It too was cluttered, again apparently with the family's toiletries. When you're spending more than $100 a night on a room, you really don't want strangers' toothbrushes and shaving gear cluttering your bath. The breakfast was perfectly adequate. It consisted of hot muffins, followed by either pancakes or french toast with a tiny bowl of yogurt and fruit and a couple slices of bacon. A bit too carbo-loading a menu for our tastes, so we opted out of the second course on our second and third mornings and just went with the muffins and yogurt. Something more varied would have been more appreciated. In short, at $120 a night, it was far too expensive for its accomodations or level of professionalism.
