My partner Eric and I stayed at the Tidewater Inn for 2 days in October. We choose it based on the reviews here and we were NOT disappointed. Victoria is a warm and welcoming host, and a great cook. (And I don't mean just great, I meant truly great - French Toast with cream cheese filling one day; Eggs Benedict...

We met our friends here and had a great time visiting with Victoria and celebrating our birthdays!! Wonderful comfortable rooms, a super filling delicious breakfast and a wealth of knowledge of anything you would want to do or see in the area.

After a not so long drive on I-95,we arrived a little before check in time.Victoria said come back after 2pm,and we'll be ready for you. So,a brief walk thru quite a charming town, and we were back.We had the Bushnell room, complete with fireplace and 4 posted bed.The room small and very charming. She's quite the hostess and we partook of the 5 PM...

Pros: The food was excellent and the gluten free breakfasts were the best I have ever eaten. The coffee was amazing. The bed was very comfortable and the rooms were clean except for the carpet stains. The grounds were beautiful. Cons: The Inn needs routine maintenance as the orange carpet is old, stained, and unappealing. The carpet did not even...

Tidewater Inn is a low-key, homelike, no-pressure BnB, ideally located for shoreline attractions, though not on the shore itself. Breakfasts are bounteous (cereal, fruit, a fresh-baked offering, and a savory or sweet main course) and there's a Keurig and muffins for early risers. Beach passes are provided, a big plus, and Victoria knows the area very well. Like Thomas A...

Tidewater Inn was nice. As others have said, a BnB can feel like "your grandma's house but your grandma isn't home". But Tidewater didn't strike me like that. The owner (Victoria) was nice and also unobtrusive. She will make you a breakfast you may or may not like (spinach quiche looking dish with sausage and home fries) but under no...

We just came home after spending 4 nights at the Tidewater Inn. We stayed in the Madison Room which is large, airy and very comfortable. The breakfasts that Victoria our innkeeper served were nothing short of fabulous. I have been to many hotels and bed and breakfasts over the years and Tidewater Inn is my new favorite. If you are...

This was more like staying in someone's home than a B&B. There were stacks of stuff stashed down halls, and everything had that lived in look, for sure. Our major complaint was, despite the fact that the inn info said A/C would be provided May - October, there was none. And it was warm - too warm to sleep comfortably....

Thank you for taking the time to post your review. Yes, we are an authentic New England B&B and nothing like a hotel. Your comments will help future guests in their decision to stay with us or not, as they prefer. Our new dining room is nearly complete but still a work in progress during your visit. Alas, upgrades take...

Bed and breakfasts seem to fall into one of two categories: (A) clutter-free, with posh hotel amenities, in remarkable buildings that have been expensively restored to their former grandeur vs. (B) doily-laden and creaky, with a hodgepodge of furnishings. The Tidewater Inn is in category B. Pros: the innkeeper is wonderfully friendly and hospitable. The bathroom was clean, with a...
