As a solo, female traveler I felt safe and comfortable here, like staying with a long lost relative. The house and Wethersfield are both utterly charming. Tom's breakfast was a delight! The aroma of coffee and the nostalgic tunes playing in the background create a comfortable vibe making it easy to settle in and enjoy his posh breakfast! Other things... More

Chester Bulkley House is located in Old Town Wethersfield. The room was pleasant with antique decoration and in good repair, though the bathroom was slightly small. The rooms are on the second floor and the access stairs are steep. Breakfast was very good.

We were engulfed in a severe downpour the night we drove through southwestern Connecticut, and the rain let up briefly as we entered Wethersfield, a town we had never known existed before Trip Advisor let us know there was a historic inn there. Tom Aufiero, the innkeeper, welcomed us on our arrival and showed us to the smallish but comfortable... More

We stayed at the Chester Bulkley House for our anniversary and had a wonderful weekend away. The breakfasts were great and plentiful, savory one morning and sweet the next, recipes made with new twists on old favorites. The Inn Keeper made great suggestions on what to see and do - it was our first visit to Old Wethersfield. We spent... More

Strategically located , though a bit pricey to my mind. The breakfast was very good though not extensive and nicely presented The decor is very Victorian , which means crowded with nic nacs. The room was quiet and comfortable.

The Chester Buckley Home is a lovely home chock-a-block full of Victorian furnishings. Our daughter was married at the historic Webb Barn just across the street so I suggested to two friends without cars that they stay at the B and B. From it, they could visit beautiful old Wethersfield and could, the next day, walk to the wedding venue.... More

This historic home is situated in a lovely colonial town. The feather quilt and pillows were appreciated, since the heat was not yet furnished and we had a very cool, crisp night. The inn keeper prepared a delicious breakfast.

We are two couples that stayed for one night. Both of our bedrooms were lovely, clean, quiet and warm with comfortable beds. The house is beautiful with lost of charm and many pretty things and artwork. It is very old and the floors are uneven, but to me that's part of the charm. Breakfast was delicious and expertly served. But... More

I am not sure why TripAdvisor list this as $85-$95. Our room cost $165 plus 15% tax, off-season. I suggest you google their website or call to ask. The B&B is cute, heavily furnished with antiques and nick-nacks, in a fairly consistent and tasteful way. Breakfast was a tasty omelette. Host was polite and businesslike; not overly chatty (fine by... More

The Chester Bulkley House has a great location – within steps of many of the Wethersfield attractions and historical homes. Just about every nook and cranny of the house is decorated with antiques (or more recent antique-looking items), such as an old shaving set, china, etc. The decorations give the house a real character that you can’t get at chain...
