The Island is beautiful. Its feels a little bit like Robinson Crusoe which is surely still the result of the corona lock-down. There are a few little resorts (means a few bungalows with an open common area) and hardly any local living. Every resort was almost empty and everything looked like a refurbishment is needed although the gardening was well maintained. There is no good snorkeling from the beach since the island seems to be surrounded only by rocks. A snorkel trip by boat is therefore mandatory. The beach is very pretty but there are sandflies that are vary annoying. Be prepared to get bitten and protect yourself with strong mosquito repellient. Bayu Lestari: Many thanks to the reservation team which was awesome. Communication worked very well via mail and whats app. They were able to organize private transfers and everything worked out very well. The staff in general was very friendly and sweet. The lobby/restaurant area is open and cozy with lounge seats and wooden tables. The beach has wooden beach chairs and hammocks surrounded by palm trees that give enough shade. From the jetty you have a beautiful view on the island; I loved to do yoga there. The bungalows are very spacious with wooden floor, mosquito net and air-con. The bed is comfortable, the room was overall clean. The bathroom is very spacious as well but here comes the downside: it urgently needs renovation. There was mold on the wall and the shower door was old and filthy. There is no good circulation in the bathroom and that is the main problem. Some bungalows do not have a hot shower but thats ok because the water is not ice cold. The food comes not as buffet which I liked; they serve several plates with mostly fish, fried chicken, rice, veggies, egg and fruits. Tea/Coffee and water is free fill up all day. Malaysian food in generally is not the best, so the resort food was definitely fine. We stayed 4 nights so it became a little boring due to a lack of variation in dishes. But overall they did a good job. I only give an average result because it is a little overprized for what you get. But this seems to be a problem on all islands in this area. Compared to Malaysian standard pricing, every island charges way too much (Rawa Island and Batu Batu is ridiculous). Especially for Europeans it is not understandable although the location is just amazing.

Amazing view of the beach, sand & sea. My wife & I took travel package under Bayu Lestari Resort 3 days 2 night. The package included returns boat travel from jetty to the pulau besar island, 3 times a day Malaysian Foods and accommodation. For me, 2 day is good enough to explore this island since there are not so many activities to be done here. Main transportation in this island is using motorcycles & bicycle. The fee for rent a bicycle is RM 10 for an hours or max RM 50 per day. We do some kayaking & swimming. Its a mind peaceful place to go, releasing stress since not so many people here. Anyway on negative side is the beach sand got sand flies/bug and can caused itchy to your skin, and try avoid lay your body on the sand too long.

Great little beach resort! Clean, all the amenities you need. Packaged meals at restaurants- fabulous. Beach walks, swimming, hikes and lazy afternoons on the beach. Island hopping and scuba too but we did not have time. A great Malay experience.

1- The island itself and the beaches are great. A bit of sandflies at certain area but still a nice place to relax. Snorkeling spots are around the island, 15-20 mins boat ride which is exciting enough. 2- The sorrounding area is clean and well kept. The staff did a good job in keeping the place tidy and pleasant. 3- Here comes the downside, the room need a lot of maintenance works especially the toilet. We paid RM450+ per night, the price is not justified with the room condition. See the photo attached and you will understand what I meant. Its a shame that the management didn't upkeep the standard. 4- Food were average, taste is fine but the portion is too small. Nasi Lemak was served without kacang and ikan bilis. How's that even possible. Need to get the basic right. 5- On the plus side, night sleep was comfy, I surprised there's not as many mosquito as I anticipated. We would love to come again if those issue are addressed. 6- Management, please repair your toilet immediately. It's not right to charge such amount with that kind of standard.

the most disgusting holiday chalet that I have ever stayed 🤢 hygiene conditions made everyone of us feel sick, we were arrange to a so-called Deluxe Room (A4) which looked pretty okay from its front view but in fact surrounded by full of rubbish and inserts and flies. Beds are dirty ,floor was dusty the bathroom even worse ,the whole package we paid RM3000+ for 3d2n /six pax , that's what we got : slum! Meal supposed to be included but what we got was tiny, extremely small portions ,we asked for refill but there's always an excuse from their staff 'we have no more stock' 😔😑🤢 food weren't tasty yet , utensils and Kitchenware are super doper dirty , most cheap quality coffee and tea were served, and thanks one of the male staff in the canine (I believed a foreign worker ) who was extremely unfriendly and thank you for making the whole stay to the most unpleasant level

We spent 4 days at Bayu Lestari resort. The island is nice ans wild, houses are ok for a couple + 2 children but would deserve to be cleaned up abit more. Resort is quiet. Staff is really nice and welcoming ... But ! unfortunately beach (and maybe houses too) are not treated against bugs and we were widely bitten by sandfleas and fire ats ! 2 weeks after we developed blisters on feet, ankles and calves, and our bodies are covered with few stings and very itchy. We would have appreciated to be warned by the staff, and we were not the only ones to be so much bitten. Never seen that in my life ! Resort is so nice and would deserve mire stars, that is a pity to ruin it with lake of minimum bugs treatment !

Just can say, very good! We really enjoy for staying here. Cheap for stay, yummy food, good view, good service. We 5girls trip is really enjoy at here & have a lot of fun. I’m cerewet & many request, no matter how they are doing their best to fulfill all my requirements. There is no heater to shower, but no worry, the water is not too cold. If you worry cold to shower, never mind, they will bring you a bucket & you may use the kettle to make the hot water by ur own self. Here is suitable couple, family trip, friends trip, company trip. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, all they are serving table by room number. You no need to worry where to sit & the table enough to sit or not. Cause all are prepared follow by room number& how many person of you. If you dun like very noisy place, then you must select to stay here! Here is like a whole pulau belongs to you! Cause this is a private pulau. Appreciate Ibu during last days gift us coconut, sedap gila....fresh n sweet.....kenapa Kita tak tau awal ada coconut jual di sini😭😭,if we know early sure everyday order to drinks... anyway, thanks a lot... dear who guys visit here, must try coconut 🥥, very fresh n juicy... Perfect getaway to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Greeted by the friendly green ocean and white sandy beach, felt almost unreal. Services provided were very sincere and efficient made the check-in and stay process smoothly without onerous. The staffs are very friendly and will guide and help you with anything. A short staycation of 3 nights was more than enough to revive yourself from your weary. My friends and I were so excited to explore more about the islands nearby and the Pulau Besar itself. Fret not! We were abled to experience snorkelling (three islands hopping), cycling along the beach and watched sunset at the tip of the island with much less of noises; only the sound of waves, birds chirping and sea breezes. We also had the opportunity to jump off the jetty for a thrill experience. As you came back from all those activities, the villa can provided you comfort and clean water to rest your back with reasonable price. The beach side is clean and provides you tranquility of sorts. Family friendly resort that suitable for those at any age. Bring your best beach clothes and insect repellent and you are good to go. Will definitely come here again in the future.
