Overall this hotel was nice. Not a bad price. Clean rooms with microwave and fridge. Fresh scented apothecary toiletries. Large outdoor picnic area with grills. Vending machines. Continental breakfast in the lobby with a big seating area. Pool is open but limited to 1 hour sign up with 4 ppl. Staff was friendly. *Side note- We travel a lot and noticed everywhere we go hotel prices have increased dramatically. We’ve paid over $100/night for no frills not even coffee- Red Roof Inn. Hotels suffered greatly during covid too and have expenses to pay. If you’re traveling, expect to pay a minimum of $20 and upwards more than usual. Some hotels I’ve seen have even been $140- 200 OVER their normal prices!!

Two of us decided to try to get around the high-priced tolls in Delaware. We stayed overnight here, traveled on US 301, and paid only $2 in tolls thru Delaware. Very nice, easy rife from DC to the Delaware Bridge to NJ.

Where to begin? Short version is 1) several restrictions presented upon check-in that were not identified during booking; 2) hotel guests forced poor experience, 3) hotel itself not maintaining clean environment. Couldn't use the pool due to full "reservation system" and a "security deposit" was required, neither of were included in my booking confirmation or otherwise communicated until I arrived from 6 hours away. Hallways and my room smelled strongly of marijuana, all day and night. Fire alarm went off in the middle of the night, and again a different morning. Hair from previous guest stuck to the wall of the shower. Room numbers were taped on (or handwritten on laminated paper). Back stairway unfinished, including crumbling cement steps. Place was just awful.

The room numbers are part of the upgrading along with the wallpaper in the hallways. I have been a best Western rewards member for greater than 15 years. This hotel did not feel like the standard of Best Westerns, I would not recommend it. Some of the problems that I had while staying here was that my room had cold water, I reported it two times and the staff never fixed her repaired it. There was no hot breakfast only cereal and muffins. The pool was never open during the time that I was at the hotel, it may have opened during the day but it was closed before eight in the morning and after eight at night even though the entrance to it is inside the hotel and it is closed. I found McDonald’s fast food in the cabinets and the refrigerator in my room that was rotting. I was not very happy with the bed as it felt like a very old spring mattress that was worn out. The hotel also added a deposit to my bill that I was not expecting and I’m not normally charged at best western. I also was not offered the gift that I am supposed to receive as a Best Western rewards member.

We booked this hotel because they advertised a HOT breakfast, free parking, free internet and they were close to a 60 mile bike ride we were in town to complete the next morning. Unfortunately they ran out of food by 7:00 am. We waited 20 minutes for them to r the eggs and pancakes but no one ever came. They had a sign up stating “no regular coffee.” We could not adjust the temperature in our room. The vending machine took our money and nothing came out. The Morning staff was dismissive and unfriendly. All the 4 & five star hotels in Wilmington and surrounding areas were the same price. We were utterly disappointed

This property should not be rated as "Plus," there is nothing special about it. It is barely comparable to other hotels under the Best Western Brand. I expect these hotels to be modest, but clean with simple amenities. The fitness center was closed, the pool pump was broken, the breakfast was sparse. We were asked to come get our own clean towels, then come back when the washcloths were done, and bring down our dirty towels when we do. I basically paid for a bed, shower, and internet. We would've been better off at a B&B.

When I did the reservation did not give me an option where if pool isn’t open or even said under construction I would not of made the reservation. The workers always were loud and complaining. Very annoying. I didn’t feel I was at a hotel we paid for. I was here about 4 months ago and wasn’t bad at all. I will never go back again.

My son and I have been staying at your hotel for years. We missed last year because of the pandemic. Returning this year, there was a clear change. Starting with the safe to guard my valuables, the women at the front desk said they did not have the code and seem confused about it. They did not solve the problem nor did they seem to care and ultimately I was unable to utilize the safe. There was a musty odor that I don’t recall from the past in the room. The outlet next to the sink was broken and never fixed after I reported it. The now limited breakfast had a sign on the regular coffee machine that it was out. When I asked about it I was told the coffee was “frozen” and the machine was leaking. The garbage around the perimeter of the hotel were overfilled, onto the sidewalk for the entire two nights and days that we stayed. I cannot say for sure but there was or has been a clear change in management and it definitely showed. So I am sad to say because of the overall good experiences we had in the past I do not believe we would stay here again. It sickens me that I paid an average of $200 a night for this experience. Definitely not worth it.

Ants were all around the hot tub and in the hot tub. Ants were visible at the breakfast areas but not as many as other areas. Ants were all over the floor at the third floor ice machine area. The hot tub was not heated despite it being advertised as such. Most staff did not appear to be happy at this location.

The pool is an indoor pool & is open all year round to my knowledge. They also have a jacuzzi next to the pool which is really nice & comfortable. The staff are great there.
Unfortunately we do not offer shuttle services. Like the other travelers stated we are in Delaware and the airport is a few hours away. Perhaps you booked the wrong hotel. We are closer to the Philadelphia Airport about 45 minutes to a hour.
There are more places to choose from in the Bear area.
