Stayed here last year when they were transitioning away from IHE. They performed over a 5 million dollar upgrade and it shows. The room was bright and spacious, bed was very comfortable, front desk was friendly and efficient. It was a great stay
We were really happy with this hotel for our first visit to Bethany Beach! The hotel has been nicely renovated and feels modern. The staff were all great, from the front desk to the breakfast staff. Nice welcome touches like text greeting to pre-register, Orange Smash drinks cold in the room fridge, and cookies. It was in a good location that allowed us to walk to everywhere wanted to visit - mainly the beach, boardwalk, and restaurants. Having the vouchers for the complimentary chairs and umbrella at the beach was great! We were traveling with our kids - 14 and 11 - and had a room with 2 queen beds, which also had a bonus fold out chair, which transformed into a twin bed and was a great option since the kids were not interested in sharing a bed! Great to have that flexible option. We were also happy the hotel is dog friendly for our pup - and there were plenty of dogs staying. Knowing that the hotel is still relatively new in its current form, my main suggestion for improving the rooms would be to install towel bars/hooks/retractable clothesline in the bathroom. Aside from the hand towel bar there is only one hook on the back of door. When you have wet towels (bath and beach) and beach stuff for 4 people and the bathroom is the only place to hang up wet things it is really inconvenient not to have any place to do that. A section of carpet in our room under the closet rack area was soaking when we arrived, likely because the previous occupants were trying to hang things to dry! Overall, we loved Bethany Beach and will definitely return and would look at booking the Hotel Bethany Beach again!…
Beware of this hotel, I was told at check-in that by going direct through the hotel and not a 3rd party online booking site that I would not have to pay for parking. At check-out I was billed for parking $10 a day and told they cannot honor what the check-in person quoted me. The experience wrecked my vacation as I felt cheated. They also charge a $25 a night fee if you want maid service or you have to walk you dirty towels to the front desk for exchange also any other amenities need which they still charge you a 15% service fee for what I am not sure. Breakfast although included was cold scrambled eggs and sausage every day. If you are looking for value you should look elsewhere. The hotel is still listed on multiple sites as a Holiday Inn Express which it is no longer associated with them . I did reply to the hotel's request for a survey on my stay and was told that it would be escalated to the management, there has been reply from the management. Apparently, the staff is not trained in customer service, and they have no idea who is working for them as they kept asking at check-out who the person was that checked us in. Be sure to get in writing what the room charge will be and ask for a printed receipt at check out.…
Beautiful king room - very clean with mini frig, sink, microwave and cupboards for storage. Very clean, spacious. Breakfast daily was good - hot and cold food. Pool was clean and refreshing - cooler than I thought but very refreshing.
Hotel Bethany Beach was a great hotel with a friendly staff. The room was clean and comfortable as was the rest of the hotel. The staff, most particularly the breakfast bar staff, were friendly and helpful and caring. This weekend experience was a great one for me and my family.
Our rooms were modern and clean, and we appreciated the small kitchenette with a sink, fridge, and microwave. All staff we interacted with had excellent customer service. Just a short drive to the beach and Bethany boardwalk! Would recommend!
Very nice, clean room, attractive lobby. Centrally located with a short walk to lovely beach. Nice bathroom with great shower and large tub. The staff was very friendly, but obviously they were understaffed (as are most hotels and restaurants these days). I wasn’t thrilled to pay $25 a day parking fee. Most of my complaints are minor; breakfast was being removed at 9:20 (not 9:30 as advertised) and I almost had to chase server down for butter for my bagel. Pool is unheated and freezing, no paper towels in either outdoor restroom. The toilet paper holder in our room fell off the wall but maintenance responded as soon as they were notified. My biggest complaint is that they have no answering system or hold features and I called two dozen times over 2 days before someone answered. The unanswered calls rang and rang until the call just hung up on me -OR- I received a message saying “the wireless customer you are calling is not available”. I had accidentally double-booked my room and was beginning to panic and think I had been scammed on a fake website. Overall, I would recommend the hotel and would stay here again, but I hope they install a professional business phone line.…
Great location in a beautifully remodeled hotel! Staff was very knowledgeable - gave us great tips for a bike adventure to Fenwick Island - and super helpful (they found and sent back a stuffy we left behind)! Couldn’t recommend them highly enough!
My family of 4 needed to get away to the beach for 3 days. We found this gem online and it was clean, neat, and family friendly. Free breakfast was generous with items. You could not hear anyone else in the rooms around you, even the other families. Beach was perfect except the waves a little choppy at Bethany, so last day we hit up Lewes for its serene waters. Coming back next year for sure and staying here again!
Place was clean and convenient. We stayed in room 301. Very quiet. Beach is an easy walk. Complimentary beach chair and umbrella were awesome. Michael at the desk checked us in and we were able to check in early and hit the beach. Will definitely stay here again.
