My hubby and I stayed just one night at Terry’s and loved it! It is very different from the other places we’ve been to. The location is perfect for walking and dinning in this old town. The owner is 95 years old and she is amazing. She greeted us at the door and explained all the rules; chatted with us... More

Delightful place. Quiet, Clean, Interesting decor. The Owner (90+) was charming and the person who runs it for her was friendly and accommodating. Nice area to walk and see the historical sites, decent restaurants, and even a coffee shop next door! Will stay again when in town.

The B & B is quite old so probably always needs some work, but we found it most pleasant and welcoming. Our room was spacious, fussy and clean. The bath, though older, was clean and roomy. The location is perfect for dining and walking around this charming old town. Breakfast was fantastic! Presentation, offerings, beverage choices and freshness were all... More

Located in a lovely historic building in the heart of the historic district so that you can wander around the town and take in the sights or walk a few doors down and have a good meal (ask for your 10% discount if you dine at Jessup's Tavern). The staff is very nice and the hot breakfast was great. There... More

I wanted to bring a Scottish friend to an afternoon tea and this was a convenient place. However, the sandwiches were mediocre and the desserts were store bought cookies and mini desserts. There were also a few grapes and 2 strawberries on the tray. The one scone we were each served was homemade and delicious (no choice of scone). The tea... More

We have never stayed at a Bed & Breakfast before so we have nothing to compare it to. This one does not take credit cards. The location is wonderful--right in the middle of historic New Castle. First of all there is no elevator so be prepared to carry your things upstairs. Our room was on the third floor but we... More

Lovely place to stay and worth the visit. The history in the town of New Castle is worth going to see. I spent a wonderful two days here and enjoyed myself immensely. I went to their fabulous park and took a canoe ride and shopped in their quaint shops and loved the bed and breakfast. So worth it

Having no idea what to expect going in I must say how much I enjoyed the Tea. There is so much history in the venue. The town of Old New Castle is such a great way to spend a day. So many surprises. It's not over commercialized, remarkable when you consider the history. Enjoy a Tea or stay over night.... More

My wife and I were in Wilmington to see a play over the weekend and we decided it would be better to spend the night rather than return home after the show. There are the typical choices of hotels to choose from in and around the City, but a mere 15 minutes away you have the opportunity to travel back... More

My friend and I celebrated her birthday by visiting this fascinating little town and going to the Terry House for tea. The experience there was like truly stepping back in time, with the beautifully set dining room table, surrounded by collections of china in the cabinets there. Our hostess was welcoming and gave us a little of the history of... More

“2nd floor, rear would be easiest, since the stairways are long and no elevator, which you would not expect in a B & B.”

“We were only there for the tea and did not rent a room since I live locally. All the rooms required you to be able to ascend a staircase.”

“This is perfect if you need a place to stay that is quiet and quaint. Don't expect modern conveniences in the rooms---its a throwback to the colonial times--which is a nice refreshing change than your uniform hotel room.”
