We had a great experience at this location. It was a stopover on our way home. We were greeted with a smile and recognized for our IHG Diamond Elite status. Room was clean and comfortable, however, the refrigerator made a high pitched sound but we just unplugged it to sleep. Breakfast was good and quite a variety. The breakfast area was very clean. The lobby is very warm and inviting with a beautiful gas fireplace. We would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend!

We checked in for a weekend stay due to a family event. Holiday Inn Express Hotels are nearly always great but this location was exceptional. The staff at the front desk provided over the top customer service, the hotel was spotless throughout (they were always cleaning), the breakfast was delicious, lots of variety and well stocked. A hotel maintenance employee rode up on the elevator with me and asked how my stay was and if I needed anything. The pool and gym areas were perfect. The beds were super comfortable. I could go on and on. Location is fantastic, right off of I-95. If you are in the Wilmington area, stay here! You won't regret it.

Great, newer hotel. Very clean. Extensive breakfast spread. Friendly staff, who went out of their way when I called down about some unruly kids from a LAX team staying there. We slept great. Room temp was easily controlled and HVAC system wasn't too noisy.

Stayed one night after attending an event at University of Delaware. Check-in was slow even with just one person ahead of us. The desk clerk didn’t acknowledge our arrival or say “I’ll be right with you” - then was snarky when my husband asked a question. Ended up in a room on the first floor. Killed a couple of large bugs that must have gotten in the room from outside. Aside from that, the room seemed fairly clean, although I found a dirty washcloth hanging from the shower curtain rod when I showered the next morning. That’s just the cleaning crew not being thorough. The free breakfast was inedible - everything from the eggs to the bread was cold and hard. Won’t be staying there again.

We stopped here for one night after visiting Hagley and Auburn State Park. We arrived via I-95 during rush hour ( Fri around 4p.m) . It was a nightmare. Next time we plan our arrival after rush hour or we choose another route to get here.
Check in was quick and easy. The room was comfortable. As with any other Holiday Inn we visited this year, the room had plenty of outlets and usb ports to charge your devices. Unlike any other Holiday Inn we visited, we got 2 complimentary water bottles.
The room had a Keurig machine with coffee, tea and condiments, a mini refrigerator, microwave, working lamps, a desk, safe and comfy chair to read your book. The closet had an iron, ironing board and clothes hangers.
During my visit ( September 2020), the fitness center and pool were closed. About breakfast, we did not order the hot items. Breakfast items included: yogurt, cereal, hard boiled eggs, milk, bottled water and juice, bagels, fruit and granola bars.

I would definitely stay here again. Only stayed for one night but the whirlpool room was excellent. Only complaint is that the button for the jets is inconveniently located on the top of the tub where it can be accidentally turned off. There was body wash/shampoo/cond in the shower itself in a wall-mounted unit, which was handy. The breakfast (free w/ stay) was about what one would expect: eggs, sausage, various breads, drinks...etc. I saw where they were trying to keep it clean as people came and went. Bed was comfortable, staff was really friendly, property was neat and well-maintained. Convenient location near the highway and restaurants. Overall, this is a great property and I look forward to another stay.

This is a 5+ star hotel. The stay itself was excellent, but the Customer Service was phenomenal. We were visiting on short notice to attend a family funeral. I was having difficulty reserving in the area and was able to book a stay at this hotel through Priceline (or so I thought). When we arrived at the hotel, I found out that Priceline made an error, as they never received a confirmation from the hotel and never told me. Due to a tournament in the area, the hotel was sold out for a portion of my stay. The hotel management took the time to contact Priceline to determine what happened. They initially set us up for the first two nights, and then worked through things to accommodate us for the remainder of the stay. The hotel management went above and beyond and gave more than 100% to accommodate us. I cannot thank them enough because I don’t know what we would have done. The entire area was sold out for the weekend because of the tournament.

Easy parking. Location to go to shops and ny is great. Standars american rooms, did not get towels for 4 persons but after call receives. Only comment would be the temperature in the gym, was to hot. Tv did not work moved to other room there the ac remote batt low, easy fix stuff if maintenance would check each room before arrival.

Modern, fresh, super clean. All safety measures are taken. Breakfast is served by staff and is very good. Staff are friendly and very helpful. There is a restaurant a short walk away; we ordered dinner for pickup and walked over, then ate in hotel dining room, very convenient. I highly recommend this hotel and will be back!

One might say I'm a bit biased but the reasoning for that is the same reason why I have an expert opinion: I work in the hospitality industry so am more prone to notice and recognize things about a busy hotel the casual traveler does not and this informs my overall appreciation of the Holiday Inn Express and Suites. I am a regular guest, sometimes staying twice in a month and the reason I go back is because of amazingly great service from the houseman to the room attendants to the front desk.
I cannot say enough good things about Marcy who gives a masterclass in guest interaction and is always beyond helpful and friendly. She's the best! The Supervisor is also extremely friendly and not just going through the motions when she asks how your stay has been. Every single housekeeper is friendly and warm and I would like to take this space to tell my fellow guests: TIP YOUR HOUSEKEEPERS! These women work hard and are the backbone for any great hotel, no matter where you stay. But the housekeepers here are especially great!
No criticism but I would like to advise more vegetarian/vegan options for breakfast. I overheard a lady tell her daughter they used to serve potatoes but they now didn't and there weren't many meat or egg-free options. That being said, the breakfast area is well stocked and looks amazing. A lot of care is put into every aspect of this Holiday Inn and it shows, it really does. I wish some of the hotels I've worked at in the last decade had this staff and I mean it!
