We stayed just one night while attending an event at UDel. We had a great experience. The front desk noticed that my husband and I were also traveling with a family friend, and they gave us connecting rooms without us even asking for them. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was well-stocked and clean. Kelvin in the breakfast room was extremely friendly and accommodating. Would definitely stay again If in the area.

Our stay was a pleasant, restful one. The hotel was beautifully renovated and the room was nicely furnished and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. There is NO CHARGE for parking in the spacious lot. The breakfast had hot and cold items, such as eggs and meat, waffles, bagels, etc. The gentleman in charge of the breakfast, Calvin, was very attentive and helpful! A very nice place to stay, right off the interstate!

I usually stay at this hotel when I head to Delaware, or when I am going farther North and use this as a stopover place. It is very conveniently located, just off I-95, and it is clean and comfortable. But it has declined in some ways that are disappointing. Visitors used to be given a complimentary bottle of water upon arrival; they no longer do. Also, the hotel used to have copies of "The Wall Street Journal" in the lobby, but those have gone as well. On this particular visit, my room--a King size bed--had only two outlets for electronics: one on the desk lamp and one on the far side of the bed. So I had to switch among plugging in my laptop, cell phone, and Kindle.
(NOTE: I was given an "upgrade," meaning a King-size bedroom with a small sofa. The regular King size bedroom on a previous visit didn't have this problem--nor have the double bed options. So the upgrade wasn't helpful at all.)
Further, the coffee pot wasn't plugged in. The cord is short, so I unplugged my laptop from the table lamp to plug in the coffee pot. Then I had to crawl under the table to plug my laptop into the power strip against the wall. Very inconvenient.
The breakfast times have also changed. Breakfast used to be 6-10 AM, which is convenient if you want to get on the road early. Now it is 6:30-9:30 AM. Further, on weekends, the breakfast is 7-10 AM.
These details may seem minor, and they won't necessarily deter me from continuing to stay here. However, I am now checking out other options. Too bad.

They canceled my reservation at 10 pm was checking at night time after traveling 6 hours reason because reserved with 3 rd party offered to get another reservation with triple more cost . Over the phone with manager she was repeating several time “leave and close the door” why should we close the door if they get payment hotel seems nasty parking in between construction equipment with huge garbage cans fully loaded trush and running rats by the door. Not save place and they re selling your booking at weekends stay away from this spot

Overall the hotel was fine, but did have an issue with a rude front desk employee. We booked two rooms, side by side for our family. A woman next door to us decided to call and complain of excessive noise (well outside of quiet hours- 10-11am). The excessive noise she complained of was the back and forth between rooms and the television, which was set to a normal volume. A front desk worker called and threatened to have us removed, which seemed extremely excessive. I walked down to the front to see what was the issue and to explain we were NOT making excessive noise and that we were baffled by the complaints. The front desk employee was snarky and completely sided with the woman staying beside us who, oddly enough, was checking out in two hours anyway (so why complain??). On my way back to my room a maintenance worker who had been on our floor all morning working directly beside our room indicated to me that he had witnessed the entire thing and had informed the hotel staff that he had heard NO excessive noise on our floor or from our rooms even though he had been beside us all morning! What bothered me is that the managers let the front desk employee behave rashly, calling to threaten removal, and then arguing with my mother on the phone because she defended our right to stay and argued against the complaints. Management needs to get a better handle on their staff and make sure THEY investigate and look into complaints before making such rash threats and calls.. Our family travels extensively and stays in many hotels and never once has had a complaint. Had it not been for this, the hotel would be fine…typical hotel, typical breakfast. Needs stronger management. Other employees were friendly, unfortunately this incident overshadowed the positive.

Thank you for being our guest and sharing your experience. We are happy you were pleased with most of our accommodations. We regret that your stay was not perfect. Please accept my apologies for the issue you encountered. The guest making the complaint is a travelling nurse and had worked overnight. She was trying to get some sleep before having to drive home. Regardless of the situation, there was a better way to handle the situation and I am sorry that we failed in that regard. I have spoken to the staff and we have gone over the situation and what other options were available to us. We hope to have another opportunity to deliver the excellent hospitality that we are known for.

I haven't stayed here in a couple months because the summer weekend rates are high, but I stayed here many Saturdays over the last 9 months. I was reviewing another property and I thought I should just drop by and review this one. BTW - if you over discounted rates for Christiana Hospital visitors and staff, could you note that in your reply. The rooms are clean, the property is fairly new, and the location is very good. I would also like to add that the ladies working on Saturday night checking me in are always very nice and professional. I feel entirely safe here and I wish I could get a lower work rate on the weekends. I am having to go to Northeast MD and into NJ to find a decent Saturday night rate during the summer. Anyway, I'm fairly picky and travel a lot of I definitely recommend this hotel for location, cleanliness, and newness of property.

This is a nice property, but the front desk staff are clueless and sorely in need of some hospitality training. We’d booked two rooms, and unfortunately one of them had malfunctioning air conditioning. When we returned to the front desk and requested another room, the young lady there got to work immediately on her computer. It quickly became apparent that we were being made to stand there and wait, while she worked out how to log the fault in their system, so that the problem could be fixed by maintenance, very much not prioritizing us, the guests, and finding us an alternative room first. Eventually an older gentleman who was also working at the desk, worked out what she was doing and hurriedly supplied her deficiency by producing another set of keys for the replacement room. Neither apologized for the inconvenience we’d been put to. Oh well, at least we got the issue resolved. Eventually.
The next morning, we asked the front desk lady - a different one from the previous evening - if we could have a slightly later checkout on one of the rooms. The woman’s demeanor was dead-eyed, unsmiling and monosyllabic. No greeting, no smile, no apparent clue that she works in the hospitality industry and that we are the paying guests. She had all the charm of a rotting log.
It’s a shame, because the rooms are nice, clean and our stay was otherwise enjoyable.

The hotel was clean and quiet despite its convenient location off of 95 The queen beds in room 228 were exceptionally comfortable. The breakfast was hot and delicious and Kelvin, the breakfast manager, was attentive and accommodating. We will stay at this hotel again on our next visit to the area.

This hotel was very clean. All of the staff was friendly from the front desk manager to the breakfast manager to the housekeeper. Had all the conveniences we were looking for including a small refrigerator with a freezer component and a large microwave. It was also warm in there which is not the case in most hotels. Very convenient location in terms of shopping, restaurants, access to I-95. Definitely recommend staying here.

Comfort Inn is about 5 miles away. A 10 minute drive. The closest hotel to campus is the Courtyard Marriott which I love but it is more expensive. The Courtyard is close to Main Street with all its restaurants and right next to upper campus. Worth staying there if you want to see what UD life is about and you are not on a budget. At the same time the Comfort Inn was the nicest of the motels that I have stayed in while visiting UD. Right off the highway however not much to see and not much choice nearby for eating establishments. One Dennys and a diner.
There are more places to choose from in the Newark area.
