The reviews mentioned that it wasn't always cleaned the best, so in my reservation, I asked that they take a look at the room before we got there because we were coming late at night and didn't want to have to deal with a room change.
The important parts of the room looked sufficiently clean, but there were marks on the walls etc that made it feel not clean. We didn't find hair on our pillows or anything horrible like that.
We reserved a non-smoking room, and the room smelled horrible. When I took my nightclothes out of my suitcase at home, they smelled like the nasty room; that's how bad it was. When I put on my CPAP, it was utterly gross.
Rather than put us in the brghtly lit, and welcoming front of the property, they put everyone on the small area by the big fence with the graffiti by the highway.
There was a minicule amount of toilet paper in the room, and when we realized that there was not a spare roll in the room at 7:30 in the morning, we called the front desk. They said that housekeeping comes in at 9am, or we could come to the desk and pick up a roll. With full bladders. At 7:30 in the morning. Just getting out of bed. We could get dressed and walk to the front desk to get a roll of toilet paper... Let that sink in.
We wouldn't stay there again. We'll try some place else.

This hotel is very basic. They are trying to do a good job at a budget price. The people are very nice. Note that this is a MOTEL--doors are to the outside--not interior corridors. Looks like it may have been an old Howard Johnsons or something like that that was remodeled. But it is clean and sufficiently comfortable and convenient to the interstate if budget is your main concern.

The motel was very run down and shabby looking with boarded up rooms... The room was smelly and to top it off a women was robbed by two armed men and duct taped to a chair on the same night i stayed there. Needless to say it will be the last time i stay there. I guess thats what i get for trying to save money on a cheap motel.

I chose this hotel because it's fairly close (about 4 miles) to the University of Delaware and the closer hotels were all booked. I would've been happier sleeping in my car.
Though the room looked somewhat OK on first glance, the more layers you peeled away the worse it got. The comforter and top blanket all had burn holes even though it's a non-smoking room. The toilet had a slow leak which brought about the occasional phantom flush. The free WiFi did not exist. You are supposed to access it from the lobby area only. The worst part was that later that night something small and dark crawled across my top sheet while I was watching TV. I put all the lights on and looked around the room but did not find what it was. I did unfortunately look under the bed which was a big mistake. Crumbs and stuff aplenty. I would have left the hotel but my son in the next bed had zonked out long ago. I slept in my clothes that night. Well, sort-of slept. Never again.

This place is the worst possible experience one can have. The staff responsible for cleaning are practically non existent. You must be out of your room by 10am or you will not receive cleaning, towels, or service of any kind. The first day it happened, I first dismissed it as nothing, but when I asked why it hadn't been cleaned that evening when we returned, I was told the "do not disturb" sign was on the door and this was the reason for the lack of service. Strange because I was pretty sure that the last thing I always do when I leave a room is to place the "please service" sign on the door. The following days I took the sign WITH me because I didn't want this to happen again. That night I came back, and again no service, towels etc. I called the desk and first I was told "the cleaning staff was told to get off the clock". I complained to no avail. 3rd day it was cleaned. WooHoo. 4th and final day, not cleaned again. This time I went down to the desk personally to complain, and was again NOW being told, the "do not disturb" was on the door as the reason. I angrily told the desk "person" that this couldn't be the case and why, and when would someone be cleaning it? The response was" I'm not gonna clean it!". I left that evening, came back and found the toilet with feces backed up in the toilet and not flushing. I was told that there is not any maintence right now, that they couldn't leave the desk, and offered a plunger. Long story short, I spent almost an hour trying to unplug it. I finally did. Prior to our arrival, they put us in a smoking romm (we had asked for non smoking), they had our name with the completely wrong address in some other state. We went round and round the following day at checkout and again, long story short, the manger and owner refused to meet with us, to schedule an appointment to meet with them, was told to call back the next day to talk with the mgr., we did and he was "unavailable". Left several messages for the manager that week but received no return calls. The elevator went on and off and the lights went out several times during our stay, scaring my four year old. The phone was rung in the middle of the night, and when I asked the desk about it, the didn't deny it, simply snickered and apologized( very insincerely). They were of college age and seemed to enjoy the whole thing. To date I have not gotten anyone to call me back as they claim when you complain to their "800" number. (I did this all 3 times, three different days). When Iasked about their "100% satisfaction guarantee", they said I need to contact the hotel directly. The hotel told me I had to call the "800" number. Needless to say, nothing was done. No phone call, no nothing. (however I was threatened to have the police arrest me because I complained in the lobby in front of customers, and was told to leave..I invited them to please do so. Perhaps then we could get some sort of management to respond to my situation, however, they declined to do so). The staff was rude, incompetant, lazy, and didn't seem to care one way or the other that I was dissatisfied.
STAY AT YOUR OWN PERIL. Do yourself a huge favor any find someplace else to stay. ANYWHERE.

Flight cancelled and this was all that was available. Would have been better off sleeping at the airport. The hotel is falling apart, no idea how it passes inspection. Dirty, dingy, disgusting. The bathroom was tiny. The front of the toilet was only about six inches from the wall, you had to straddle it like a horse. The 'tub' was a half tub. The parking lot was like a used car lot. A screaming woman woke me in the morning. Worse than a Third World hovel.

Needed to take a shower after I left the hotel; my room was that disgusting! Note the mold in the shower, the filthy handprints on the bathroom light switch and door, the drips and dirt? splashes on the wall above the toilet paper holder, the torn wallpaper in the room's hallway and more accompanying dirt. And could the sheets and towels be more scratchy? No. There was also a feminine product left in the parking lot overnight, that was still there in the morning when I left at 10 AM. Beware of mega potholes in the parking lot as you dodge around the trash. Needless to say, I will not stay at a Motel 6 in the future. Yuck!

It was late, we were tired and everything was full. Under any other circumstances we would have left without even going back to the lobby. The photos speak volumes. The vent was over our bed. The dead roach was behind the door. The next morning we put on socks went to the shower with out clothes. After the shower we dressed inside the shower and left. I complained to Econo Lodge corporate via phone and email and they didn't seem to care one way or the other.
