Stay was ok, yet had to be on watch as roaches....having spent thanks giving week end here, roaches would join in and at any time. Cable tv, less than basic so be prepared to not be distracted from the tv, very lack of channels, except news. Shower was warm, yet, my mind was always on when roaches would appear, this being the very negative. Price of the stay suitable, yet roaches, difficult to be at ease. Locale suitable as there are eateries in walking distance, yet had to secure food, NO way to leave even crumbs. Room service daily, and towels clean. If only for the cost, I stayed, I deemed staying for ONE night. This place, suitable for those to travel far, a place to sit and nap, not a vacation spot.

Let me start by saying, The sweet young lady who checked us in was extremely nice & friendly. We stayed 2 days and this place is in serious need of updating. The bed was comfortable, however the pillows a "blanket" left something to be desired. It was clean but there was a very strange scent in the room... Which I quickly brought my Lysol in and sprayed. We were exhausted from being Otr for 3 weeks and just wanted to do laundry and sleep during our stay. The breakfast was nothing spectacular- no hot food except for waffles. The price was outrageous for what was provided. The grounds are a big turn off.... As the pool looked like it was condemned for good. There were some pretty flowers freshly planted by the office. So apparently they are trying. I attempted to get into the "gym" and the door wouldn't open. It looked to be used as storage, I could be wrong though. (I just wanted to see it, I had zero intentions of working out) We did use the washer and dryer and they did work well. Change was readily available in the office, and they gladly helped me out with that. The phone rang around 3 am, waking us. But that was our fault ,we normally unplug them for fear of exactly that. I'm also dissatisfied with the points that were given to us for a 2 day stay. Being Diamond elite members. Especially vs.the price of the room. Hopefully they will update this location soon. I haven't had to write a review this bad in all our visits to the choice chains. Don't think we will stay again. Unless things change.

Three adults checked in for 2 nights - there were 2 towels in the room when we arrived (we had pre-booked for 3), so we went to reception to ask for another towel only to be told they did not have any at reception and we would need to come back in the morning. Managed to get one in the morning. Came back that evening, and the room had been serviced. Only two towels in the room! This time, we had success - the reception did have a spare towel. The room was okay, but not flash, and it did not feel overly clean (just so-so). The room was very noisy as the air conditioning unit / heating unit for the reception area was located close to our room. We needed a bed for the night - that was what we got.

It was late, we'd been driving a long time, everyone was tired and the decent hotels nearby were all full. This was our only option. The woman at the front desk was very nice and luckily gave us a room overlooking the parking lot so we could keep an eye on our car. The kids (12 and 14) asked to stay in the car instead b/c the place was so dodgy (we didn't let them!). My son slept in his sleeping bag and we told everyone not to leave anything on the floor because God knows what might come home with us. The sink didn't drain, the toilet didn't flush. Yuck. The whole place needs to be torn down.

This was one of the worst hotels we have every experienced. This is a very old, run down facility and looks it inside and out. We arrived late at night. The room was dingy, dirty, as was the bathtub. There were ants on the floor as well. Traveler Beware: This hotel charges and additional $73 in "Tax Recovery Charges & Service Fees", essentially adding half again the amount charged from the advertised amount. Bait & switch.. Highly Not Recommended.

I had an orientation at UD and did not want to commute from Philly. By the time I decided I wanted to stay in Newark, the good hotels were booked and expensive. The first night was fine, but we didn't sleep great. The next night I woke up at 12:30am to go to the bathroom and noticed a black spot, figured it was nothing, but decided to check it out. Turned out it was a cricket. Then I saw two others. I was disgusted, grossed out, and anxious. When I put a tissue over the bugs, they jumped away and I eventually lost one. There was another bug too that was crawling around. It was disgusting, I didn't even want to walk on the floor, I was scared they were going to jump at me. There are gaps under the door leading the outside to the inside of the room, so bugs can come whenever. I pulled the bedside table out to get to the outlet and there were dead bugs behind it. I was so distraught and uncomfortable and worried that there would be lots more bugs when I woke up, that at 1am I drove an hour home to Philly. I told the front desk person, and she said so what do you want another room, no I want a refund. She said she could only do one night, even though I had 2 nights left and left in the middle of the night because of bugs. I asked to have the manger contact me. Called the next day for the manger, nothing, gave my name and number. My mom called next day, nothing. She was not helpful, never told me when the manager would be back. She said her name was Sam, (coincidentally, my name is Samantha) so who knows if that is actually her name. She said the managers name was Terry, but I've never spoke to him, so again who knows. I would certainly not recommend this hotel. It is gross, has lots of bugs, the staff (at lease the ones I interacted with) do not care about their guests, it is next to an abandoned building, which is off putting, and a bit scary. There were also cockroaches on the walkway steps. Who wants to sleep with bugs, I definitely don’t. It doesn’t need to be a five-star hotel, but needs to be livable, clean, bug-free, and have staff that care.

We had a graduation party for our twin cousins who we haven't seen in some time and for some reason all the hotels Were booked In Newark. I am From the hotel industry so I was taken back from the front desk Clerk who was Volatile and The security guard Who Did nothing. We were supposed to have rooms next to each other and non-smoking rooms and that did not happen. We were separated and my brother had a smoking room. The gentleman at the front desk was extremely rude so much so that I have never seen such hostility at any place that I ever dealt with customer service in my lifetime. This hotel is located right off the highway so there was a lot of noise. It is a motel not a motel so the doors are open outside. The room is surprisingly clean but it smells Like chemicals.
I seriously have spent nights in places that you would rate lower but this is he worst Enter at your own risk. You are Not being taken care of. One out of 5 stars is a gift .

I arrived late, Room 106 was awful throughout, in daylight, I could see how rundown the property is outside. The pool cemented in.
The only positive memory is Harry at reception who was most friendly and helpful.

Absolutely terrible place to stay. Potholes that will wreck your car everywhere in the parking lot. The heater was broken, the WiFi didn’t work, the door wouldn’t shut correctly so it was freezing the entire time. Saw a few cockroaches. DONT waste your money!!!! Disgusting.

An absolute dump. If we hadn’t arrived so late I would have left. Looked for any available rooms at other motels and they were no vacancies. Couldn’t tell if the stain in the bathtub was rust or blood ( it was rust), there was dirt on the desk area, bathroom fixtures were pitted and the switch on the lamp was broken which is probably a fire hazard.

Hi. The place was dated, and as such, seemed old and tired, so not necessarily "clean" but not dirty per se. Wasn't smelly as such, maybe a little bit musty.
There are more places to choose from in the Newark area.
