I’m starting to notice that the IHG brand is a cut above your typical freeway offramp hotel. This candlewood suites is a well-run hotel. The room was clean, bed was comfortable, service was great. Seems like a lot of the hotel rooms I stay in either smell like bad perfume or like gasoline fumes, but this one was odor free. The room was a little dated, for example I couldn’t find a USB plug to charge my phone. There’s no continental breakfast, but I’m not a fan of the typical hotel breakfast buffet anyway, unless it’s a high-end hotel. Overall, a pretty good place to stay for a night or two.

Been to a lot of hotels but this was outstanding quality for the price. Kyle at the reception was very pleasant and the room did not disappoint in style and quality. It was simply refreshing spending the night here.
The kitchen area was excellent and it just feels like I am in my private accommodation back home with the separate living area and bedroom design. Extremely good quality I must admit.

We spent a weekend here and had a positive experience. Kyle was our front desk agent and gave us all of the information we needed to have a nice stay. The rooms were clean and had everything we needed. However, the cable TV in our room was broken as the coaxial cable behind the TV was broken off and could not be connected back. I keep a Roku on me but the WiFi was not reliable to stream, so I used my phone as a hotspot. Also, the heating/AC unit had some issues in the middle of the night. The unit says it has a 'smart feature' to detect when people are in the room. This feature clearly does not work 100%. We had the A/C unit on and it kept turning off or blowing air that was not cool. There are plenty of places to eat and things to do in the immediate area.

I have been in this hotel for 2and 1/2 months because of a flood in my condo. The staff is friendly and professional. Any problem or concern is addressed promptly. The room is clean and comfortable. There is a well stocked kitchenette including a two burner stove, microwave, and full sized refrigerator. There is a laundry room with free washers/dryers. I was lucky to find a place here.

I made reservations for Candlewood Suites Newark-South Property for my future stay. I had a problem with my room size and rate of pay, so I called reservations four times to be kept on hold and call dropped three times. I called the local property and Ms. Stella took the time to listen to me, apologized for the issue I was having, gave me my original room and adjusted my room rate!!!!
I was shocked and impressed! I wanted to say thank you for resolving my issue with care and concern. My faith in Candlewood suites has returned! I look forward to my stay!

I was blown away by my whole stay at Candlewood Suites. My girlfriend booked us a room while our house was being finished up. The front desk agent Heather was extremely friendly and introduced all the amenities upon check-in, and even offered up a great place for a cheesesteak close by. When I got to my room, I was impressed by the spacious room and cooking area along with the cleanliness of the property. I had a small issue with my room and the GM Christine was absolutely wonderful in moving me right away. Plus, when we wanted a late night snack there was a fully stocked pantry. Overall, I would rate my experience 10 out of 10. The only issue we did have was housekeeping mixed up the day our room was supposed to be cleaned, but when we pointed out the error, our room was cleaned the next day. There is also an on-site barbequing area with two grills and patio tables to relax under. We had a good time kicking back and meeting other guests while cooking out. Will be coming back frequently.

The front of house staff were very welcoming and helpful, especially as I was travelling for the first time in America, and first time solo. I arrived quite early, and they did their best to find me a room quickly. The room was tidy and had everything you need, with free tea and coffee. I did find it a little dark being on the ground floor, but it was very close to a pizza place which was handy for dinner.

We had a three-day weekend trip to the area and selected a suite at Candlewood Suites to be able to stretch out. We had some issues upon check-in with our exact room reservation but it was finally resolved. I know there are issues with staffing so I will give them some leeway but have to say there was NO BREAKFAST as advertised blamed on staffing. Said they don't have breakfast or to-go bags on the weekend. Finally they pulled out some granola bars and some oatmeal packets and laid them out on the lobby table. We know other hotels in the area still had breakfasts. No housekeeping or room maintanence service either. I will say the room was clean and comfortable with a fully stocked kitchen.

Over the last year and a half I have been staying at this hotel multiple times a week for work. Between Rosa, Archie and the rest of the staff world class customer service is always offered. All the staff is very friendly and always eager to help accommodate for any issues/change of plans. The hotel overall is very clean and the rooms are comparable to a studio. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in the Newark area. I have stayed at multiple hotels in the Newark area but have not experienced anything close to the service I receive at this hotel.
